Is my Stingray 5 a one piece body or two pieces very very cleverly glued together and bookmatched in the middle? When I look at the grains, I can hardly tell, as there are no visible straight cuts or grains which are perfectly matched.
The serial n# E19640 according to 5Stringer the bass was built Dec 22nd 2000. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that all the translucent instruments came with a once piece body, but I might be wrong.
Perhaps the man who is in charge of the wood at EBMM can tell me more
Here are the best shots I could take to help you detect what I probably can or cannot see.
and here is a pic by the bridge and if you see in the middle by the A string there are even wood knots which show that there are no cut sections in the middle
Thanks for your expert opinion.
