Private Auctions on EBAY are always an automatic red flag------ its common practice for frauds to use private auctions.

Is it a private auction, though? It comes up under a normal search. The only thing I see listed as "private" is the name of the "high bidder".

Anyway, I've been hammering him with questions...and...as no surprise...I've not received any answers.

*** UPDATE ***

The auction was ended, but not by the seller. Guess my fraud report did some good. I feel kinda sorry for the "private bidder" who thought he had a $150 trans purple Axis within his grasp...

Hee...check it out:

Here's an email I just sent him:

"What are you talking about? You haven't provided any proof that you have this guitar, and what do you mean by the guitar being "unlocked"?

Also, why did eBay end your auction? Something doesn't seem right here...

Now he's emailing me (it's a "dummy" email address I use sometimes), and claims to have more than one quilt purple Axis, which is the reason he hasn't given me a serial number yet. Because he has more than one.

We'll see if he writes back any more. I insisted on serial numbers and pictures, and if he comes through there, I'll offer partial payment, balance due when the guitar arrives in my hands. That ought to drive the nail in the coffin...

I'm really ashamed that this person claims to be Greek... :( :( :(

There is no way someone can have a bargain Axis (or any other EBMM for that matter) for sale in Greece, round here the prices of new EBMMs are sky high.

I believe he claims to be from Greece in order to cast the appropriate "aura".. in other words total and unspeakable bull****.

Say, s6275, can you ask him to provide a Greek phone number or an address? I can perhaps pay him a visit... ;) :D

That's why I'm terrified to sell high ticket items on E-Bay. How did you find out about the counterfits? You didn't lose anything, did you?

I saw that auction and checked his feedback. He had a good amount of feedback... for small stuffed animals!
