Caring for/maintaining unfinished rosewood necks?

Wipes? Dry cloth? Lemon oil? How often should I be using the wipes? On other guitars I wipe em down with a cleaning cloth every time, but am I supposed to be more conservative with the wipes?

I've been using gunstock oil and wax twice a year. I treat my unfinished maple necks the same way. For the fretboard I just wipe it down with a moist cloth to get the stains off and then apply some lemon oil. Guitars always feel brand new after that treatment.

Rosewood is far harder than maple, so if anything, you have to be less careful when cleaning it. It is however more open, so it can get more gunk stuck in it. The wonder wipes are great for a cleaning a few times a year. Otherwise just wiping the back of the neck down should be fine.

Someone told me you can get the smell out with a Dremel tool.

Just as well you don’t live in the U.K. then. We have a chicken shortage and there is no fried chicken at the KFCs!

First KFC ever, that is cool. Yeah there is a balls up over here with suppliers etc so the KFCs have closed, this is only short term though.

Well, fried chicken is the enemy of guitar necks and fretboards everywhere. Sure it may smell good, and might make you play a bit faster, but you'll want to lick your guitar after a bit.
