There was never a 2 band Sterling with mutes. There was never a 2 band 5 string Stingray with mutes.

So, no one is "missing the point." Who says there can't be a classic styled Bongo?

I wouldn't mind seeing a Bongo in Coral Red with a birdseye maple neck/fretboard, either.

So it would be a Bongo dressed up to look like a classic-style-looking Stingray ???? naww, would that not be the totally opposite of what the Bongo is ??

You know...I kinda like the idea of a Classic Bongo. Powder Blue/Tort, lacquered birdseye fretboard, mmm!

That's more of the idea I had in mind. I know the Bongo concept is all about innovation, and so my post was sort of a joke/sort of something to get people's imaginations going.

That said... I'd love to see one with birdseye maple neck and in Vintage Sunburst! :D

+1 on the Mahogany Bongo... but I prefer Tahitian Blueburst personally... I'm all full up on Red and Green, now I need a Blue one! :)

While a classic Bongo does not really sound right to me... I do think a mute bridge with a Bongo's 18v active package has the potential for some awesome tones. Not so sure about the maple neck people are suggesting but a Mahog body would be awesome. JOSH
