it doesnt shock me that Tony was so gracious..he is a true gentleman and I am very very proud to have him in the family.
On a personal level on behalf of my family and the Casey Lee Ball Foundation I want to make sure that you know that we appreciate your support.

Thank you. Very kind. The pleasure is all mine. I´ve known about the Casey Lee Ball Foundation for quite sometime and it was a true pleasure to be able to help out. Not every day in my life that I´ve been able to support such a great cause and at the same time acquire such a fine piece of art. A win - win situation indeed. Thank you for doing such a great job with the foundation. Much needed. Always inspiring with good people who care. Thank you, sire.

Yes Tony is indeed splendid. To take the time and effort and meet up with a fellow like myself with his busy schedule is impressive. Great, creative, musician and a humble person. The thing is, before meeting up with Tony in England, I´ve had thoughts about selling my studio and to leave the music business and do something else work wise. As you all know, the music business can be abit rough from time to time and I had experienced some things lately that had taken most of the happiness away from music. It can happen that you end up in situations every once in awhile that are not good for the creativity. The reasons can differ. I had lost focus and the fun was gone. But this beautiful bass and meeting up with Tony has been a great mind opener and a great boost when it comes to creativity. And to hear Tony say something like: "The more bass I play, the happier I am" made me realise that I had forgot what had turned me on to music initially, some 35 years ago. And that was without a doubt the electric bass guitar. So now I focus much more on the bass and less on producing. And I have more fun than ever and actually more work too. Strange thing really. The lesson to learn is to "keep your eyes on the ball". And to do what feels right for you and not what other people want you to do. It won´t work in the long run any other way. The music business itself can be a harsh mistress but a fine bass is a long time sweetheart who wants you well if you treat her fine.

The drawback of the whole experience is that I now need a fretless 5-string Stingray. Unfortunately, EB´s swedish distributor are abit......slow.....when it comes to basses and they have none to my knollage. Small market indeed so it´s rather understandable. So if you consider putting a frettless 5-string Stingray with matching headstock up on eBay for the same cause, I´d most definately bid on it. I need one. Bad. :)

That was a rather impressive first post!

Thanks for the story and welcome to the forum. Stick around and have some fun with us if you can.

Tony is indeed quite a guy, and I understand your reaction. I used to do a lot of concert photography in the 70s and 80s and have met my fair share of 'famous' people, but being around Tony makes me feel like a little girl.

(I'm almost but not quite over it now.)

I'd love to see more photos!

Jack

Thanks. I will stick around. Great and friendy place, this. Photography is great. I´ve been into cameras and photography since I was a teenager. Been into toy cams lately. Good fun. Cheap cameras with plastic lenses.

Looks like the pics are taken around 1960. Good fun. You´ll laugh your head off. Holga and Diana cams are the "best" ones. Not that the word "best" is the proper word to use to describe these things. But the result you get is truly amazing. Much more fun and basic than modern cameras.

Little girl, eh? lol I won´t say what I felt like.

Hi Jan,

Very glad you posted as I wanted you to meet the guys on here and maybe stay awhile.

Thanks again for your post and kind words! It was a pleasure working with you on this auction and getting to know you over a few e-mails.

From the get go Tony was very supportive of this auction! One phone call and he was completely happy to help, looking back he went way beyond the call of duty. Hats off to Tony! A true Gentleman!

Posting some more tidbits that you sent to us! Great studio and nice collection of MM's

Just wanted to show off, hope you do not mind!

Thanks

DB

Hi Derek and thank you. Very kind words. No, I don´t mind at all. :) I had planned to put more pics up myself but it seems like you, being on the "inside", can post bigger pics. Good thing. This is indeed a nice and friendly forum. Splendid folks. Thanks all for the kind welcome. I will hang here and post things when I have something close to intelligent to say. Thanks all and take great care.

Sincerely//Jan
