Hi, first of all, I'm new in the forum so I'd like to introduce myself, I'm a guitar player from Mexico and I've been a fan from music man guitars ever since I knew that John Petrucci and Steve Lukather were using them, gotta love those guys.
Anyway... I got a problem in my music man jp-12 7 string guitar, whenever I use the tremolo or for that matter, I turn the bar in circles I get some sort of clipping noise. This problem only happens if I'm connected to an amplifier even if the guitar has no strings on it, I'm guessing it has to do with the electronics of the guitar. So here's a pic of the electronics hopefully you can see anything.
Now... there's some circles in the image, the red circle marks the wire which I'm guessing is causing the problem, because I fiddled around with the wires inside the cavity while the guitar was connected, and I didn't get the clipping noise, but whenever I touched that wire(the one circled in red) the noise partially disappeared
. The black circle marks the place where the wire's coming from.
So... How can I fix this? Is my hypothesis correct? What should I do to that wire? Should I check something else?
Thanks!
Edit: This also happens when I roll the tone knob, but not when I roll the volume knob.
