Sounds very cool, looking forward to trying them. By the way, did you catch that awesome Stingray with binding! Maybe a hint of what NAMM holds. Got my camera batteries charged!

That's what I've been waiting to hear.

I may not be able to go out and buy a new bass as often as I like, but I sure as heck go through a lot of strings. And what better way to support this company than by using their "bread and butter" product.

Thanks EB Co, I'll be looking for these in your retail channel.

I'd love to see a head-to-head comparison with a standard Slinky set - same bass, same rig, same settings. I know you can't experience the feel this way, but I'd love the opportunity to hear the differences!

Looking forward to trying these out. Though the thought of my Bongo sounding any better kind of scares me.

Maybe a dumb question, as I don't really know all that much about the string making process, but will these be available in flats?

Definitely going to try some of these....on my 4s first then work up to the 5s. Brilliant idea guys. What I love about EB strings is that the cost is good, and they out perform some of the really expensive boutique strings. Love Slinkys me!

ok... now that the cats are outta the bag.... i wholeheartedly agree w every single word the dawg said. these are as big a gamechganger as the game changer its that massive a diff. brian simply knocked it straight outta tha' paaark!! as soon as i hit em the first time i went... holy balls!!!. its got the big meaty foundation of a flat, meaning the solid thump without the woofy hollow sounding low mid nastiness we go a filtering out, somehow without sounding scooped i might add... plus on top of that, its got a metric crap-ton more aggressive energy in the mids and top. i called brian as soon as i heard them all freaking out, foaming at the mouth, and was going a mile a minute telling him everything that was totally righteous about them, and he said... "wow dude, you not only just described the string i set out to make, but basically just read out loud every freq curve chart i have laying in front of me from all the tests we've run on them, sounds like the real world is backing this lab data up to a t." (paraphrasing it was like 11am, and i was already drunk, can't remember verbatim). so yeah... cobalt. I've seen the light. i feel sorry for anyone else who used to make bass strings. sell your boomer stock kiddies, its o-v-ah. brian wins. ps... nice to see randy playing my signature model. that was sweet of him.

Outstanding!!! Very cool.

So...Craig....are you able to re-post that link to the sinister-sounding clip you made - back when you were throwing us all off the trail thinking about catguts and pop tarts? :)

I'd love to hear that little teaser sample again!!

I must be the only guy in the world that doesn't like binding.

Looks great, but the edge is always so uncomfortable...it's why I don't like Rics unless it's an S.

yeah... ill dig that up when i get back to the crib. the old link is still up, but ball hq only wanted that first cobalt sample out there in the wild for a couple days at most, which was quite brave and kind of them since they were still dotting the $x,000's on the jonny cochran end of things. after 48hrs i changed the link to point to some guy whispering shoot me shoot me over and over again, (certainly worth a listen... wonder what ever happened to that cat). ill find the maiden cobalt voyage and repost it when i get back to the Krakk-House (my studio / analog wax museum / green basses from texas rescue center).

Outstanding!!! Very cool.
