Question Compensated Nuts

I just happened to stumble across this site, Earvana - Compensated Tuning Systems for Guitars
Check out the image of their compensated nut right on their homepage, looks an awfull like the nut on my JP...

Are EB nuts a proprietary design or are they shared with a company like earvana?

The issue of the comp nut has been addressed before (you can do a search) and there was an ongoing dispute/litigation with earvana. If that has not been settled, I don't know that there will be much official discussion on the mattter.

The EBMM comp nut is proprietary and, in fact, patented:

There is/was a dispute with Earvana but I don't think we know many of the details. BP would be the one with all the 411.

Thanks for the heads up-I did do a search but I wasn't able to find a thread that dealt specifically with this question. Granted I didn't read through the entire threads of the 2 pages of returned results (i read through a few and then I just hovered over the headings of the others with the mouse until the "pop-up" of the 1st post came up).

Regardless my question has been answered... yes the EBMM nut is proprietary, awesome!

I still would be interested in reading up on the back story - If you know the specific post would you be able to send me the link? Of course I don't mean to stir up anything if there's litigation - my question was strictly for my own curiosity.

EDIT - No Worries, I found it, it looks like it was under a Bongo thread and that's why I missed it.
