Never mind, most likely selling this one and have a guitar to mod which is the reason I asked

Is this forum dead, responses seem slow and long in between so sad

I do not know, about a cutlass, but I agree that the forum seems to be completely "dead". No discussions, only occasional complains... At least yo've experienced good times, I joined when it was already almost dead.

Yep, agree though I will never be part of that, social media crap that is :) Well hoping it turns around and gets active again, plus now that I am retired spending will go way down :)

Maybe I need to do a NYNGD to get things heated up again. Although that is part of why I bailed at the end of 2022 -- a lot of work and not a lot of people interested. I have (believe it or not) 50 new guitars (actual count) that I haven't shared.

To answer your original question, I’m fairly certain all except the earliest original cutlasses are routed for a bridge HB. My Starry Night cutlass is not, but my RS is (both are SSS models).

It's certainly a different demographic and the vast majority of FB groups I have dipped a toe into (motorcycle, guitars, luthier, guitar repair, bass player, over 60 bass player, over 61 bass player, etc., etc.), are just loaded with folks more than happy to share their opinion on things they know, by their responses, nothing about. The level of useless noise is awful and most have been insufferable so they don't last long with me. With a couple I always steer them to forums like this where bright and truly knowledgeable (and fun/cool) folks still hang. I'll take quality over qty every day and the few forums specific to a handful of interest all have exceptional folks participating. Nonsense, drivel and garbage gets tamped down pretty quickly.

Yes, and a very long time ago now. I think Reddit and facebook replaced forums. But sorting through the nonsense to get to actual knowledge or expertise there is very hit and miss. And YouTube has replaced print magazines in the music gear world, but also made the existence of forums for advice and troubleshooting and less appealing too. Why sign up to a forum to ask a question when you can just watch a video?

There are still some forums that seem to thrive. Of what I do or did visit, the Reaper DAW forum is very active with really helpful and knowledgeable peopel, but it doesn't *feel* like community, ya know what I mean? The (Mesa) Boogie Board is slightly more active than this one. I check new posts there often and post sometimes. Talk Bass seems nice from what I've seen, but bass is too far down the list of things I do in my life so I have not even signed up. There were still some Astronomy forums that are helpful and active but Long Covid and Paris light pollution keeps my scope in her case pretty much permanently.

This forum was always smaller than most others. Music Man are very small manufacturer and relatively unknown amongst the wider guitar buying community. While company policy wanted no discussion of other brands, it stayed very active until the rise of Reddit and YouTube. And it did and still does *feel* like community, family even in some ways, at least to regular posters and old veterans.

I've posted here a lot less often recently. Long covid means I can't work and activity is limited and so I spent a lot of time on the couch and this is "something to do", but I can't be the guy who replies to everything all the time and y'all need opportunities to contribute or the forum vanishes fast.
