Great story... was an interesting read. Reminds me of my father's story, who passed away around this time 9 years ago. A pain I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Sorry for your loss.

Sad loss on both accounts Sterling. Many condolences to you and all those related.

Dan sounds like a rock of a personality and an inspiration for all the important values in life & hard work that in many are so long forgotten.

Sterling, I'm very sorry to hear of the losses your family and company has just experienced. Over the past 8-9 years I had several conversations with Dan at the NAMM Show and the various EBMM events, and they were always enjoyable - sometimes we chatted about classic cars, other times it was production stuff along the lines of getting 6 bookmatched tops out of piece of wood that would normally yield 3-4, etc. He always spoke with great pride about your family and the company. I can't begin to imagine how much you will all miss him.

Bovinehost posted this in the bass thread, thought I'd repost here. Sherwood Ball in concert, the man's voice was amazing (and here playing an Albert Lee guitar in quite the all-star band)!

The guy had pipes and hair - sorry I never got to meet him!

BP-

Wishing you the deepest of sympathies in your loss. My prayers are with you and your respective families in this time. I was at the 50th Celebration at NAMM and what an incredible event it was...
