Yes I have to order...even if I get something I dont usually get to keep it

BP I wouldn’t do this for just anybody, but you’re my main man. As bad as I want my DD I’d gladly let you keep it and play it all you want till the boys at the shop make one for you… and I know they would make one for you!

Let me know, love ya,

The King

That is just an awesome looking bass. I have a fretless 4H DD on the way.

I've been unusually patient up until now, but mine has left the factory and I'm starting to really look forward to getting that tracking number.

I hope you're looking even more forward to actually playing the bass. The Dargie is the only bass I've thought seriously about going for as a lined fretless. Normally, I don't want lines, but those inlays are too cool to pass up!

Bongo fretlesses rule. Period.

well done Steve, as a side note we have the same color walls...

Colin,

Funny story about those yellow walls. My wife picked a yellowish color for our entrance hallway and upstairs hallway. A decent bit of painting. Unfortunately, the color she picked became School Bus Yellow upon drying. It was a mixed color, so there was no returning the THREE GALLONS that she bought.

So, I had the remaining paint 'toned down' at the store, then I mixed all the yellow (about 2.5 gallons) with a gallon of white in a 5-gallon bucket, then put the paint back in the cans, painted two more coats over the initial "retina burning" coat, and voila! There's the yellow she originally wanted.

Keep in mind, this was during the month between the time I purchased the house (Oct 2007) and the time we moved in (Nov 2007). In that month I put 28 gallons of paint into the house, and I'm one who can't stand painting in the first place!

I also put another 5 gallons into my old house to get it ready for selling at the same time! What a month! People at work would try to guess which color I'd painted the night before by looking for speckles of paint in my hair.

Man, these Bongos are fun to play!

The tuning keys are geared very nicely, too. Smooth and stable action on those babies.

Best of all, my wife really digs the Dargie color combined with the Bongo shape. So maybe I'll manage an LE Petrucci before the window closes? ;)
