Don't do that BP. I knew MB was joking around. I chuckled at that post while at the same time knowing you guys were working extremely hard. My Uncle owns his own Mercedes body shop and I see the same thing happening over there. Keep the pics coming and thanks for all the hard work.

Nice work, those of you who chose to not show a little common sense.

lets all chill out for a bit guys. im pretty certain that the official order window isnt even open yet. we all have questions and comments and excitement but lets give it a day or so till the EBMM folks are home... they are 1/2 way across the country @ a huge tradeshow AND it is a weekend after all!

Im guessing the EBMM crew are tired from talking to a bazillion customers and dealers and doing all the stuff it takes to run a world famous company. NAMMs fun n games for attendees but its business for them... probably more stressful than a normal days work especially given the logistics of getting instruments there & doing meetings etc.

lets not annoy the piss outta them and taint this cool opportunity. fact is that they did design an instrument that many of us begged for. They put the R&D into it and im pretty damn sure they did that so they could SELL the instruments - not just post pics of a one off. With that - to me - logic dictates that they will get us (the buyers) all the info we need in a timely manner. I seriously doubt they wanna leave us with a bunch of questions, preventing us from making a decision and end up with 0 orders ;)

In any case, all the questions have been answered - or can be answered, but just PM me or email me, okay?

If I don't know, I'll find out.

That's all well and good and completely understood. However, Azaih did make the 'Details' post on 7-14-06.
Maybe if they wanted to avoid excitment and questions, it would have been better to wait until Monday to post such info. I LOVE my AL, and I'd LOVE to own a Dargie Delight AL. Enough so that I probably will go talk to my EBMM dealer tomorrow about it. But this particular thread is giving me a bad after taste about the whole thing.

This is why other mfrs dont let you guys on the inside. we worked our asses off and if you want to pick our five minutes between two days you may have seen your last namm shots.

we will start posting after the fact glossy press releases with canned copy.

It was all in fun and the pics were copied from the bass side in the spirit that they were obviously taken and originally posted. I know you worked your asses off because you told us you you worked your your asses off. No reason to doubt or question you.

I'm also sure that there were occasionallly some light moments and some fun, as evidenced by Jack's photos and posted comments by some of the attendees. Just trying to grasp on to some of the lighter moments.

Posted with the smilies and the first comment line about working hard while playing hard thought the sentiment would show through and maybe even get a chuckle out of you, apparently not.

Sn

Please understand that in the spirit of giving you guys the most up to date info theDAY BEFORE the international show you have a bad taste. Why dont you rethink that. do you really think that all of you would be happier waiting a week for any info? I think not. THis is just proving that giving advance info is a mistake. If you dont want to buy one that is fine but I would hope that you would re read the threads and realize that we made a spur of the moment attempt at trying to give you guys something special and most threads are unhappy,

It was just a bongo at first and i opened up to ALL models that didnt have a maple top lefty righty any pu combo and all and I will hope when this settles down and these are in the players hands that a few may appreciate what we tried to do.

Im glad you were joking but I dont think that Larry Andrews was. I hope he was but all of us are scrathing our heads at people here that are unsatisfied and dont understand that we squeezed these into a production that was already 6 months backordered and a engineering staff that is way overworked and were tring to do the NAMM show at the same time.

Couple of observations, boss.

The vast majority of forumites get it. We really do. I can't tell you how many people I've talked to both in person and via email who understand that we're on the receiving end of something that is just too cool to believe.

Being a forum, people are going to run off at the mouth. Lord knows I've done it a time or two (or perhaps maybe even like 7000 times), and, like you at times, people get excited and go off on a stream of consciousness born of excitement.

You know - "Oooo, a green bass, will it have fuzzy dice and spalted knobs, can I get one with a pickguard that looks like my grandmother's tea set....."

I am your moderator. If you want me to bitch-slap someone, tell me and I shall make it so. I know you like to get into the nuts and bolts and keep the mice alive to play with them before you eat them, but you know that sometimes it's easier for me and for you if I take the bullet.

Now you other guys, I'm not the only one here who understands that there is a line and that sometimes you don't want to even walk up to the line, much less jump up and down on it while waggling your fingers in your ears.

Three days of NAMM was too much for even me. I bailed this morning, but the EBMM crew didn't have that option.

So....um, am I going to get bitch-slapped now?

the cuz I kind of like it,

Jackie

I know that we will have to be a little more careful and plan our words more carefully in the future. I just thougght that you guys didnt want a delay in info and would prefer real time up to date as we now it info....which do you prefer....press releases or thumb on the pulse info?

I know that we will have to be a little more careful and plan our words more carefully in the future.

Well....from my point of view, I know that if it's something cool, you'll call me, swear me to secrecy and then tell me....because you like to watch me squirm.

Also, you know I'm pretty good with secrets. Hah.

So on a personal level, I'm not going to complain if you play it a bit closer to the vest.

But this is, I think, an ongoing experiment. Can you be as active on the forum as you want to be and still remain who you are - and not have stuff blowing up? I don't know the answer to that, although I know you're never going to be able to change the way you do things, so the real question is the last bit - about stuff blowing up.

Part of the answer is to let the moderators work for you. I really believe this. You're the guy out in the desert, waving the magic instrument wand ("Scotty, build me one of these!") and that's as it should be. Let us do the clean-up on aisle five and if we screw it up, then it's on us and we can be replaced.

You don't need to be spending time on the small stuff. You don't do it as the CEO and you don't have to do it here on the forum. That's what you pay me for, cough cough.

which do you prefer....press releases or thumb on the pulse info?

It isn't up to us to decide, although I'm pretty sure what the overall response would be.

It's up to you. You're running the asylum here. You know what it was like with the press release approach and you're up to your neck in the "thumb on the pulse" concept. I think I know what you prefer, even with the occasional explosion, but you will almost certainly tell me if I'm wrong, eh?

"Why do I have you here?" (BP to me yesterday)

:D

I think why some people want all the info now is because there worried they might miss the ordering deadline ( I know Im a little worried) so they want the info now so that dosn't happen.

Im new to this forum and I can tell there is a lot of stuff going on right now but I understand your at NAMM and that once you get back we'll get some answers. But thank you for at least posting on the forums and getting some stuff answerd. I mean come on people BP could just ignore this forum the whole time he is gone if he wanted to but he dosn't.

Good point, Matt.

But - you're not going to miss the deadline. Check your email.

I ment no disrespect by that post by any means. I am completely satisfied with all the services and products that this company offers. Im not sure where the waiting time came from. I made no mention to being unsatisfied with it. Im sorry if i came off as a jerk or an unsatisfied customer but that was not my intention I’m completely satisfied with all that the Music Man Guitar company offers. My apologies to anyone who was offended by what I have said. I have never made and comments regarding being unsatisfied with any of the guitars offered present past or future or any of their options, I just feel abit wrongfully accused.

No worries, Larry, just let me be the forward scout.

I'm not the expert here, but the entire crew at NAMM was working their asses off. I just KNEW, when I saw the comments - and I also figured that they were made in jest - that they were going to go over like the proverbial lead balloon.

I have never made and comments regarding being unsatisfied with any of the guitars offered present past or future or any of their options, I just feel abit wrongfully accused.

Don't sweat it. We love you. BP and the NAMM crew worked hard and every single EBMM employee went out of their way to make the forum guys feel important, even while having to deal with insane people in suits and Germans and whatnot.

Well, and us.

Sometimes people don't see the Big Picture, and sometimes I don't see the Big Picture, either. No sweat, Larry - you just leave Big Poppa to me.

WOAH! What happened??

I for one am EXTREEMELY happy with the info we're getting on spur of the moment, it makes it exciting..... We may go off on tangents, but that's half the fun... guessing what you're going to say next... NOOOO DON'T STOP!!! I choose option B also!

Good things come to those who wait. :)

Ohh Boy,

Do I regret starting this thread. Guys, I didn't want this to get out of hand. I just wanted to start a thread that would allow us forumites to ask questions about
"THE DETAILS" of the DARGIE DELIGHT. Maybe I should have taken "OPTIONS" out of the thread title. Cause I guess people would start to think it's almost going to be a custom shop type of guitar. Can I get this, can I get that. I didn't want that to happen.

BP, the majority of us get it. To go from just talking about the Dargie Delight, then say you're going to offer it, to then building a guitar in just a few weeks is amazing. And you guys did all this even with the NAMM preparation taking place. Awesome.

And thanks for posting the NAMM pics. I thought they were hilarious. Especially the Bert and Ernie photos. And anytime we can see pictures of BETH is definately a bonus.:p I have no doubts that you guys worked your asses off. Who cares if there are a few pictures of BP joking around. You've got to have fun at these events. I definately appreciate the photos of the Dargie. They show how great the color looks. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Dargie JP, because of those photos. To those guys that made the joker comments about the photos, I think they were just that. I certainly didn't get any negative vibe from them.

BP, I know we can give you a lot of headaches, but we do get excited about your products. Please keep us on the inside. Where else can we get the "inner workings point of view of a company", like we can here at EBMM. It's great.

I'd also like to thank Jack and Steve for doing their best to keep us informed.

BP, I know info has already been mentioned concerning the Dargie, But can I suggest that when the order window opens put a post in both the guitar and bass side giving us the details so it's right in front of our eyes. A lot of the info is all over the place. Some on the guitar side some on the Bass side.

Price. Upcharges if any. If you order a JP for example you get rosewood fretboard only and choice of matching headstock. If you order a Silhouette, you get a rosewood fretboard only, black pickguard only and choice of matching headstock. Stuff like that. Just so us KNUCKLEHEADS have absolutely no question about what we can get.

Thanks and sorry,
Scott
