Funny, all of these Dargin's Delight threads remind me of the forum only instruments you were gonna build. Heck I've been away for a week and after getting caught up on 6+ pages of posting I think I'm pretty caught up on the situation.

Ohh Boy,

Do I regret starting this thread. Guys, I didn't want this to get out of hand. I just wanted to start a thread that would allow us forumites to ask questions about
"THE DETAILS" of the DARGIE DELIGHT. Maybe I should have taken "OPTIONS" out of the thread title. Cause I guess people would start to think it's almost going to be a custom shop type of guitar. Can I get this, can I get that. I didn't want that to happen.

BP, the majority of us get it. To go from just talking about the Dargie Delight, then say you're going to offer it, to then building a guitar in just a few weeks is amazing. And you guys did all this even with the NAMM preparation taking place. Awesome.

And thanks for posting the NAMM pics. I thought they were hilarious. Especially the Bert and Ernie photos. And anytime we can see pictures of BETH is definately a bonus.:p I have no doubts that you guys worked your asses off. Who cares if there are a few pictures of BP joking around. You've got to have fun at these events. I definately appreciate the photos of the Dargie. They show how great the color looks. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Dargie JP, because of those photos. To those guys that made the joker comments about the photos, I think they were just that. I certainly didn't get any negative vibe from them.

BP, I know we can give you a lot of headaches, but we do get excited about your products. Please keep us on the inside. Where else can we get the "inner workings point of view of a company", like we can here at EBMM. It's great.

I'd also like to thank Jack and Steve for doing their best to keep us informed.

BP, I know info has already been mentioned concerning the Dargie, But can I suggest that when the order window opens put a post in both the guitar and bass side giving us the details so it's right in front of our eyes. A lot of the info is all over the place. Some on the guitar side some on the Bass side.

Price. Upcharges if any. If you order a JP for example you get rosewood fretboard only and choice of matching headstock. If you order a Silhouette, you get a rosewood fretboard only, black pickguard only and choice of matching headstock. Stuff like that. Just so us KNUCKLEHEADS have absolutely no question about what we can get.

Thanks and sorry,
Scott

As I understood your original post you were simply making a thread for us to ask questions and have all the info in the same place. To lessen confusion. When I read the post for the first time, I knew it was NAMM weekend and didn't expect any response from the EBMM team as I knew they'd be up to their necks in business. A good friend of mine works for a company that does both NAMM shows a year and I see and know how overwhelmed he gets. Anyway, I thought this thread was a good idea for collecting questions over the weekend and then hopefully
getting some answers as the EBMM staff got things together after the NAMM madness. I wasn't asking for or expecting immediate answers. I also wasn't expecting slightly irritated comments in regards to simple questions either. That is the point were I got my 'bad after taste.' But like most things, that can be fixed by consuming something different, refreshing, and more positive. Sadly...

Then the thread took a different turn with the pics. I got that they were in jest. I was glad to see there were at a least a few relaxing moments in the midst of all the chaos.
Would I have posted those pics? No, but I don't think any harm was intended. It's confusing to have a forum with a sense of humor and jesting but then not knowing where to draw the line.

In closing, since I'd pretty much gotten the idea of what the Dargie Delight offered, I simply wanted/want to know if these models can be ordered now. Someone else above asked the same thing and apparently got an email with an answer. Why can't it just be posted on here for us all to see?

I understand that the Dargie Delight kind of took on a life of it's own. It is way cool and I'm thrilled that the oppurtunity to own one has come along. But as a customer who is considering spending a good chunk of cash on said product, I'd like to not feel like I'm being a pain in the a$$ for asking a few questions to sum up my desicion to buy or not. That's why I have a 'bad taste' about it. Not because info on the DD was posted on Friday.
All of this said I want to point out that my EBMM AL is above and beyond the nicest playing and sounding guitar I've owned in 25 years of playing. I want more of them and I'd LOVE to have a DD version. I have nothing but respect for EBMM and I'd like to have a little back in return as a customer of said products.

Shnook,

Just sit back and let it go;) ... it's been said that the ordering window isn't even opened yet and once it is you'll have 10 days to place your order.

Just take it easy on the EBMM fellas, I'm sure in due time you'll have all the info you need.

Cheers!

So it isn't open to order yet? I could have sworn I saw someone post on here that they already ordered one.
I just keep hearing '10 day window' to order once it's been annouced, and it was announced Friday, or was in merely mentioned, so I was assuming 3 days were already lost. Hey as far as I'm concerened EBMM can take their time with when they take orders. I'd rather have time to come up with the cash from my paychecks than dig into my savings account, which is what I'm gonna have to do since this is kind of a sudden oppurtunity.

I just don't understand how people can think that they are going to miss an official details thread.

They aren't going to throw the details onto the 5th page of a thread that's already started and since turned into a discussion on what brand of oil people put in their cars and when they change it out. They're going to put a thread up called, "EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE DARGIE'S DELIGHT, AND WEREN'T AFRAID TO ASK FOR, BUT WERE TOO IMPATIENT TO LET US SIMPLY TELL YOU." Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they got Code Monkey to make the tread title blink....

I simply don't see the 10 day window going by without everyone who wants a DD, and has the fundage to acquire one, not having every question asked and answered in time to place the order.

Just do what I've been doing--bug Jack via PM, or email. He's man enough to say, "Gee--I don't know, but I know someone who does." :D

Heh--you think the EB/MM crew want to deal with this madhouse frenzy for more than 10 days? I'm just glad they didn't decide "Okay, you've got Monday from 12:34-2:17* to get one. After that, you're stuck with the other 8 brazillion choices we've got to choose from."

* Not meant to imply that the ordering window is neither officially open, nor officially closed on a Monday, or even that Mondays exist.

I made this post in the Bass Forum by accident, but just quoting it here as I presume it wouldve been from someone this side of the fence that wanted the JP photoshopping..

I hope darren doesn't mind me tampering with his beautiful JP7 pics. I read somewhere (can't remember where exactly) someone requesting some photoshopped pics for the JP. I love 'candid'/home made shots of stuff, so thought it best to use a shot like this to photoshop.

Sorry about the corner cutting on the logo etc. I'm extremely tired and can't sleep (its 3:15AM here) so cut me some slack. ;)

Hope you enjoy anyway, It does look somewhat 'nuclear' but I'd imagine it to do so in direct sunlight anyway, so that's my excuse for my cheap photoshopping. And I kept the chrome knobs on just for darren. ;)

BP was right though, the inlays are massive on the guitar, hence why I left it at 12th fret only, as I was getting a headache making them small enough for the upper (smaller) frets! :D

If anyone wants any other models photoshopping lemme know, its too hot to be able to sleep anyway. Not when theres fun to be had in photoshop too.

I'm already on it :) Suprisingly, there wasnt a good enough picture in the last ten or fifteen pages of the pictures of your guitar thread.

EDIT: And here she is:

Just gonna whip up a silo then its bed time for me.

EDIT #2: Feeling really blind now I'm pretty tired, but I've finished what I've started. Another stab at the luke:

And a silo spec:

I'm pretty tired now so all shades of green look the same. :D Enjoy, anyway!
