Hey guys I'm having feedback issues (not harmonic, but microphonic) with my Dark Lord on the middle/bridge and bridge positions. I was wondering if this was normal? I know the single coil is made of "unusual" for a single coil, bobbin material and wondered if that was part of the issue. The bridge...I'm not sure, it just howls like mad and I'm not using tons of gain just a good bit of volume and boosts. I've heard that if a cover rattles the best medicine is to tear it down, put a piece of t-shirt between the slugs and pup cover, and slap it back together.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Luke,

I play my Dark Lord with extremely high gain, and I have never had that problem. I hope this helps!

Good Luck,
Bryan

Yeah, sounds like your bridge p'up could be microphonic. Worth a call to customer service to see about a replacement.

Thanks fellas,

I called EBMM this afternoon and talked to Jacob, I believe. He told me it sounded like I had a microphonic pup, maybe two. He said I could send it in and they'd take care of it, of course I pay shipping one way...to which I responded I could put in the pup and he said they could do that too, but I'd send in mine first. Then I remembered I'll be at NAMM in 2 weeks so I asked if I could come by the booth and drop it off. He said he had to check with the guy running the booth but figured it wouldn't be an issue. I was planning on going by anyhow and now I have a REAL excuse! lol

Anyhow, great customer service!

Let me tell you guys what I'm running and you can tell me if I'm not explaining this well. I'm running between one of two rigs.

Guitar>board usually with a MXR GT-OD on>a wide panel tweed pro with trem head or a hotrodded Marshall 2204 making a little less gain than a JCM900

Either amp I'm getting the squealing but more readily with the Marshall due to the gain I'm guessing.
