This is a pic of me from a few years ago playing a 1001RBI through a Henry.Although I only play GK cabs now I have to admit this is one of the best combinations i've ever heard.GK+Henry+EBMM Bass=Super Punchy,Low and Loud.Good luck with whatever you decide Shamus but you know what I think you should get :D

Just got back from gigging, if you can call it that! $100 in my pocket for five songs (about 35 minutes "work"), plus all the food I could eat!

I'm still chuckling over it! :D

Anyway, paired up the Henry with a Peavey SessionBass head (E.Q.'d flat on the amp), and got the beefiest (and tightest) bottom-end! Not to mention some sweet mid's and highs.

Wait till I get the bass head I really want...

The only drawback of the dual p/up config' is that it hinders my slap technique...all the more reason to pick up a single-H B4 as a backup...or a Ray. :D

Oh...and the Bongo got serious looks (and praise) from the other band!

Proud Owner since...two weeks ago today!:D

Randy, to say that I was pleasantly surprised just wouldn't cut it!

This is definitely a stand-alone cabinet.

I've decided to go with an Ampeg SVT-3 PRO for my set-up. When it comes down to it, Ampeg SVT's just have the sound I want.

I'm watching 5 of them on evilBay, and trying to contact a local with one on CL.

Hoping to make my purchase by Wednesday; my gig phone keeps ringing! :D

Just be careful with the power rating on whatever amp you get. Those speakers in the Henry like to move and too much juice might send them through the grill  Now lets see some gig photos of the Bongo and the Henry in action :D

Actually, I bought a Henry 8 bass cab; A TONE MONSTER!! Borrowed A&R's Peavey SessionBass head.

Shopping Ampegs this week; just waiting for my eBay payment to show in the mail.

BTW, you missed two jam gigs back-to-back. There was the Sunday jam at The Gate, and Saturday's was at Bud Ice's pad.

BTW, this poll is still valid. I still have a bonus check coming next month!

Wait...wait...I'm channeling BP as this is being typed....

yes, BP...I hear you....

Are you sure? That's what you want me to say?

Okay, then.......

BP says that you should buy one of everything, with every possible pickup combination, in every possible color, with every possible pickguard variation.

He also says to pass along the following:

"BP needs a new pair o' shoes, and those shoes are HUGE. There ain't NOBODY who can fill those shoes but me, fool!"

You seem to be amp shoping Shamus. I like me some Peavey. You got one to send my way?

Nah, I'm rebuilding after taking the summer off from gigging (unsuccessfully:D ).

The Peavey I was referring to earlier (or in another thread) was a Peavey SessionBass head that I borrow when I gig with this particular band that calls me from time-to-time.

I'm not sure that I could describe the difference between the two...I just like the "rawness" of the Ashdown MAG Series.

I had the MAG 300-115 Combo earlier this year, and it just had a BIG sound to it...what some have called the "British Sound" (like from the 70's; think Sabbath and Laney bass amps). That's as close a description as I can come up with.

Just placed the order for my new Ashdown MAG-300R bass head...Monday delivery.

Through my SWR Henry 8x8, it should sound pretty damn good! :D
