OK Kids so many of you by now know that Brian Married Shelle on Saturday night in La Quinta California at 7:30 PM.

I was watching the weather like a hawk and it was looking pretty good until last monday when it was revised to be only a dry 111. I put my Rabbit pulling out of a hat suit on and had to use some superpowers but it was absolutely beautiful.

This thing started with a BBQ on Monday with just the two families, (no photos, I was cooking)
Tuesday we took over my favorite mexican place El Mexicali with both families and out of town guests who decided to make a week of it. People were very upset to see that they couldnt eat there except for the patio.

Then a pizza party at Jakes Pizza. This was about 60 people strong. I did have my camera.

The rehearsal Dinner was at the venue for the wedding and was "non traditional"
First we had the rehearsal. Keep in mind that Brian had 23 ushers and shelle 6 bridesmaids. Aunt Luke and Gary hanser were part of the illustrious 23.

Here is Bri in the rehearsal

What you didnt see

The WEdding venue and ceremony. It was just fabulous the wedding itself took place on the ninth fairway of the Hideaway Golf Club behind a beautiful waterfall. There were flowers and roses everywhere. The sky was blue with pink streaks and a harpist seated every one and then when Brian came down the aisle Steve Morse played a original piece just for him....When Shelle came down the aisle he played Highland Wedding. The funny thing is that most of the guests had no idea who he was. Brian was marriede by Gay Pivaroff who is all of our families favorite person. Brian and Shelle wrote their own vows and it was powerful. After a long kiss the bride and the pronouncement of man and wife the PA blasted Joe Cocker's Fellin Alright'!

The reception was at the club house and started with Sushi, Crab, Lobster Corndogs and every appie you could imagine with a welcome Rasberry Mojito or watermelon water for the non derinkers......Then all 325 guests were seated at a table that was named after a song. You got your seating card from table where the cards were held up on a bed of expresso beans.....My table was Burning Love and I was seated with the Crowells Hansers and Lukathers.

The husband and wife first dance was Rodney Crowell singing Making Memories of you. The song he wrote for Kieith Urban that was number 1 last year. It was just him and a Collings and you could hear a pin drop and there wasnt a dry eye in the house.

Next was my speech. The funny part is that we had our smaller stage there and I was wearing new loafers and could barely get up the ramp. It was like ice. Everybody thought I was just being funny but I was near tumble. I made it and gave the speech.

Dinner was 5 food stations that had everything including duck tamales. Quick dessert and then the party started in full.

The Father Daughter/Mother Son dance was "Have i told you lately that I love you" by Van Morrison.

The second that the dance song ended Jack Mack and the Heart Attack busted into their set accompanied by 7 minutes of world class fireworks.

Jack mack played for 90 minutes and then the old farts took over. The Biff Baby's line up this night was Luke, Steve Morse, Albert Lee, Rodney Crowell, John Ferraro, Lisa Loeb and BP. We played one set and then it was one am and the after party inside the clubhouse started with youthful music I dont get but I did like the minature Kobe Beef cheeseburgers and the hand dipped chocolate strawberries.

Guests departed via a fleet of shuttle buses with a hangover kit in lace that included a mini Ketel One bottle,Mini Tabasco bottle and tomato juice and two Advil and a cd mix (roayalty paid) of the music that played throughout the event.

I dont have any additonal photos but will be getting some soon.

Absolutely incredible! I suspect the Royal Wedding pumped more $$ into the La Quinta economy than the US Open did here! ;)

Congrats again, Brian!

It had an impact. I had a friend that was shopping in Palm Desert and had an out of town ID and the clerk said " Are you here for THE wedding?"

THis was a tear and laughter filled deal

Amazing, boss.

You're a lucky man to have such great kids - and family and friends.

They're pretty fortunate to have you, too.

Congrats again to bride and groom.

Sounds even better than the Open House! :D

Thanks for sharing the rundown and photos.

Did anyone notice that Steve Morse played a song he wrote special for Brian as he walked down the aisle? I got shivers just reading that.

Congrats to everyone
