Actually the guitar w/vintage trem stays in tune pretty well...with light use it shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes I do more dramatic dives on it, and it still stays in tune for the most part. As long as you dont go nuts (since the A.S.S. doesn't have a locking nut)....it's a very good trem unit.
A good tip is to stretch your strings...pulling on them at 3 different points along the length of the neck (Moderately) and retune them after each stretching sequence (up to 3 times) right after you put on a new set. That will help break them in a little faster, and avoid going out of tune so much right after you put them on.
