What is the definition of a custom shop? It's a place where you put in an order for a guitar in the color and configuration you want, and they make it for you. Now, the options you have to choose from are somewhat limited for certian models, like you can't order gold hardware, or get an Axis with a 15" fretboard radius, but they are still only made when an order is placed.
I'll say it again, EBMM ONLY makes a guitar after an order is placed! They aren't like the other manufacturers that have such unpredictable quality control on their regular models that they have to run a custom shop so that you can be sure to get a real gem. All of EBMM guitars come out that way, because they don't have a "regular production line", and another for people who are fortunate enough to be able to drop $3500 on a guitar manufactured with the care it ought to be. EBMM offers Custom Shop quality at or below the price for most other American model straight production guitars.

Click a model and check out the options, then contact an EBMM dealer to order what you want. It's that simple.
derk said:Okay, I understand that EBMM makes guitars to order. What I meant was, does EBMM have a custom shop that will build a guitar to my specs? I'm in love with my Silo, but I think it could use a few changes for it to fit 'my' specs..i.e. carved top, 25" scale, etc...
nobozos said:The SUB guitars, and somebody from EBMM can correct me on this if I'm wrong, are made to the same standards as any other EBMM guitar. The only difference being the finish, and electronics. They don't have to be as selective with the appearance of the wood on the neck, because the neck is painted. I'm sure the finish on the body is probably alot less costly to produce. The pickups are good, but they aren't custom Dimarzios, or Seymour Duncans, or EMGs, so they cost less to produce. All these details allow EBMM to produce a quality, affordable guitar at less cost to you. As far as I know, someone still has to order a SUB for them to make it.
if that's the case then technically I can have an axis super sport with HH on the body of maple+ash, is it posible? I was asking about those two wood combo's in another thread. if they say no, then I think what they do is they pre-cut bodies and necks and route the bridge and finish them on order. How long is their average lead time anyway?nobozos said:You guys are missing the point. EBMM IS as custom shop.

and go to "Build an Instrument", you will see what options they offer on what models.
