I'd love to transcribe the album, the original tab book is not good. I feel like isolated tracks would be necessary though with how much layering and experimentation is on it.
Though I transcribed all of the 90s albums and released my corrected tab books over a year ago, I thought this would be a good song to do a full synchronized tab video for. Maybe I'll do more of the 90s songs in the future.

Happy 21st anniversary to Train of Thought! In celebration of one of my favorite DT albums, I transcribed the entire thing and will be uploading tab videos for each song over the next couple weeks. I've gotten many requests to transcribe this album in the past several years, but because I do not have access to the isolated guitar tracks, I've always said no. Since the original tab book is truly terrible (I bought a copy in my teens before I knew any better), I made an exception and put in countless hours of research and have edited my transcriptions more times than I can remember. I'm finally ready to share this work with fellow fans, and I hope you enjoy it. The tab for As I Am premieres in a couple of hours.
Long before I started transcribing professionally, I tried to learn the first solo in this song from the official tab book. I eventually gave up, and I think teenage me concluded that it was simply too challenging, not realizing that the book was just plain wrong. I'm so glad to have fixed all of that with my new transcriptions, and hopefully they will help others avoid the same scenario. Yes, the songs are still very challenging, but not frustratingly illogical.
This is the final tab video in my Train of Thought transcription project, though In the Name of God was actually the song that got the ball rolling. What started as an attempt to learn the unison in the middle of the song, and thus rediscovering how terrible the official tab book is, soon morphed into transcribing and correcting the entire album. I hope fellow fans will enjoy (re)learning the songs as much as I did.
