Dumb question im sorry

Probably it is because it is a musicians designed guitar and that's how they prefer it

Not sure but the JP line is the same. Maybe that way the string to PU height is consistent. Maybe the PU couples with the body resonance and this has some positive effect?

Not sure. But (at my request to balance volumes) during some other warranty service EBMM raised the neck PU on my JP6-20th by putting a couple gaskets under the PU screw holes. At the factory height the neck PU had noticeably less volume than the bridge PU.

Don't all the morse guitars except for the ones with the P90 type pickups have screw adjusted pickup heights? I didn't think any of them were direct mounted, which is why they all have pickguards.

There is a piece of rubber tube that drastically limits what adjustments can be made …. Swapped out the tube for springs and now the plexi sounds proper

Is that original? I can't see any of that in the Y2D models, which have a transparent top. However I do know a lot of companies that use those for single coils. My G&L guitars all have the rubber tubing, and I think maybe my fender telecaster. In general the Morse guitar pickups are actually designed to be relatively far from the strings when compared to a lot of other pickups.

I jave no answer except this...

There is no such thing as a dumb question. Do not apologize. :)(y)
When my clients say "this might be a dumb question . . . " that is exactly my reply, almost.
I say there are no dumb questions. Only dumb answers.

Yessir , i actually thought someone swapped the springs for tubes but it was confirmed its supposed to be that way but not being able to adjust the pups said mine both have springs now haha
