I just picked this one up tonight... the previous owner had a brass block installed for added sustain to the floyd and he also added a D-tuna. The strings were incredibly old and gunky. I cleaned up the neck and body, but took me forever to change the strings!!!!

Anyway, right off the bat, I love the neck on this thing!!! The fretboard is a bit wider than my Petrucci... and I love that. It's more like my PRS... again, which is great!!!

I'm digging it so far!!!!

Such an amazing guitar. I'm just not sure what you mean by the Morse having a wider neck? The Petrucci has the widest neck of the EBMM line up. But I think you may be referring to the thickness from front to back? Either way, whatever is more comfortable to play is the way to go.

Maybe it just feel that way because it is more natural to your hand in that sense. I know what you mean though. It is a really comfortable neck, I absolutely love my Y2D. I did just acquire another guitar which has a completely different neck more in line with a JP, but I kind of like the different neck. The guitar is a completely different beast and lets me play differently than on the Y2D in a good way. I like to change it up once in a while.

Hey there!

I know that feeling. It's truly a great guitar! I got mine (a Y2D in Tobacco Burst) just a few weeks ago and I can't take my hands off of it. For me the neck feels and plays like a dream come true. My other guitars have been severely neglected since I got this beauty.

Enjoy yours!

congrats to a nice Y2D!!! this axe is killer and i prefer it more and more over my JPs.
the midrange coming from this axe is awesome and let the guitar tone sit right in the mix of the band.

It's one of the best guitars ever. I've actually been playing a lot of metal on it as well. Sounds absolutely ferocious tuned a whole step down. Lots of Symphony X \m/ !!!

I love the finish on that guitar. I would never have one though as i am a bit scared of the floyd rose
