I've never played a 2 band. Why the 2 band over the three? Is it for simplicity's sake? Is it just a personal preference thing?

Andrew

I was looking to mimic as close as possible my friend's pre-EB 'Ray. Mission accomplished.

Speaking not as a sales monkey or the moderator or even as a personal friend of Bob Nyswonger............

....it is so nice to see so many people so damned happy with what makes me happy, too.

It's just that simple.

Tell me about it... My SR5 is due to arrive at my local (if 1.5hrs away counts as local) GC on Friday which means I could potentially play it Saturday night. On the other hand if it's late I'll be waiting a few weeks before I get to play with the band again... Oh the humanity!

Same here with few exceptions. The only other production line brand i like is Lakland.

I've owned a three of the Skyline series basses and didn't like them enough to keep them very long at all. I can't say I've played one of the USA models, but I can't believe that they are enough better than my EBMM basses to justify the price difference IMHO.

Whats even worse is im also starting to gas for a white bass. Me? White? yeah.. :(

Hey!

Don't knock it! Don't underestimate the stylin' nature of a White bass. All of my basses in my Pre-MM period were either Black, Sunburst, Red or Orange and I must say White really stands out. And on top of that, since it seems to be a best-kept secret as far as popularity, you're going to feel more like an individual playing one.

Here's a f@@K yeah to the original thread!

Something about a Ray's tone that is so good regardless of what the EQ settings are. I can go from pick to finger to slap without flicking switches or turning knobs and the sound will fit right in.

Maybe we have a single knob LE SR for 2007.

Thatts another weird thing, my sterling fingerstyle tone is smooth and warm, yet the slap tone is cutting and mid-scooped sounding.

You bet y'er @ss! I really didn't consider how great a White bass looked until I got my hands on my current 'Ray!

Although I'm sure my TransGold 'Ray will look just as stunning.
