I'm with NorM and Glenn on this one. Selling a gift guitar is about as low as it gets for me (especially one from EVH!).

Also, the EVHs were very very nice guitars, but even for the same money, I'd probably choose an Axis. I just like all the changes they made after EVH left (the contour, the width of the neck at the body - no more high E sticking issues, and the placement of the switch). I just find the Axis much more comfortable to play with these changes. I speak from experience as I used to own 2 EVHs and one Axis (which I do now regret selling :( ). I'll get another Axis when the time is right.

Like Gary Moore a few months ago when he sold his f***ing amazing Les Paul he got from Peter Green as a present in the Seventies
The one he recorded "Still got the blues" with.
Now it´s in the showcase of some collector.
Unbelievable

I was at the concert thats shown in the ebay auction! Eddie played a purple for the 2nd half of the set, and then went back to #1 for the encores. Probably the same one. The last encore they did was 'All right now' and thats where the pic is taken from. It was the last night of the RHRN tour at Wembley arena. The black Sterling bass Mikey was playing is now in the HRC in London.

EVH had 14 complete stacks on stage, with 2 heads on each stack! Shame only 3 cabs were working! Looked awesome!

The current bid is $2000 which might seem a lot to you guys in the US but equates to £1050 in the UK (at current exchange rate) - which is less than the going rate for a new Axis over here.

Little Angels were a minor rock band in the UK - I guess they now all work in McDonalds and Starbucks and need the cash! But I agree that sell a gift is definitely bad karma, especially if you want 20k for it!

The guitarist is Bruce Dickenson (i think---no not the maiden singer) and a good good player. I think he is teaching at on of the schools in the UK.

As for the guitar, it's a real beauty, bit i got one and mine had faded like old jeans!

I made enquiries about this EVH about ayear ago from the same source. They were looking £10,000 (GBP) for it. Once I picked myself up off the floor on hearing this I delivered one of Oscar Wilde's great quotes, "Include me out". Way too dear IMO.

No, it's not an EBMM but I do own a guitar that's in a few pics with EVH and he played the guitar as well. I bought it for $300 from someone who isn't into cashing in. Someone offered me $1800 for it last year and I flatly denied the offer. I agree with the Karma statement.

I was told he had to sell his guitar because he had to cancel a tour due to problems with his arm and the insurance wouldn´t pay for it, so he had to.

That is really harsh! He must have been gutted.

1. Norm is, IMHO, completely correct.

2. It's a guitar. The only (questionably) cool thing about it is that it belonged to EVH. It will impart no special talent to the buyer nor will it be any better than any other guitar of the same era.

3. I will ban anyone who buys it!*

Jack

*Just kidding. Mostly. Probably.
