Well, I think it's time I did this. It's about time to hand in my EBMM EVH guitar, and have it repaired by a professional.

It needs the following...

Refret

Nut replacement (not original and want original nut)

Volume pot replace

PU selector switch replaced

Serious cleaning of the neck (can do myself, but since it needs a refret...)

OK, so if you had an EBMM EVH guitar and needed all this repair work, who would you send it to for the repairs? I remember contacting EBMM several years ago about this and they told me to send it to them, that they would take care of it. Sounds good? I figured, it's they who should do it since they do work on the Axis guitars all day long, no?

Your thoughts?

To me this sounds like a no-brainer, a slam dunk, a tap in...

a) You live in SoCal
b) You love your Axis
c) You mwan original parts
d) EBMM said they'd take care of you

....Send 'er in. Juan Guitarrez will pimp it out proper for you. TLC are his middle initials.
I speak from experince ( guitar-wise, that is :D )

Also- YOU MUST POST A BEFORE AND AFTER PIC!!! OK?:)

Good Luck

^Agree.

Jon at EBMM would be (and has been and will be again in about a week) my first choice with no serious competition.
A distant 2nd would be Paul at TRUTONE music in Santa Monica (seeing as how you live in socal it shouldn't be more than 1 hour drive).

Paul's worked on my ernie balls before doing set ups, fret filing, battery compartment replacing. He's very good. They also stock a fair amount of ebmm's and olp models and is a pretty cool store.

I would get Charlie Chandler in Hampton wick to do it, buy seeing as you are in California this is of no use to you!

I was peering through Charlie's window the other day (whilst on my way for a curry:D ), and it looks as if he has a couple of used Silo's on the wall if anyone is interested. Couldn't tell you about prices or colours as it was a bit dark!

I'm not sure that Ernie Ball does that now? Unless it's warranty. I think from memory it was taking resources away from building new ones.

Thanks for the replies, people. I knew a long time ago to just send it to John. I just wanted some reassurance, is all. I do love my baby! Uh... that's my guitar baby, not John. Heh.

I can't post before and after shots, unfortunately. My HD Sony Video camera, which does fantastic still photos, is not compatible with my PC. My brother's Mac is compatible, and stills from the video look better than most still digital cameras. So, if John wants to do them, he can. It's all up to him.

Yes, it looks like I'll send you my guitar, John. I contact you by private email if you give me your address. PM it to me, and we'll start this ball rolling.

Thanks again for the reassurance, fellas.

Sin,

I'd send that baby to Jon (no 'h' in his name). You know he'll take good care of it and treat it as well as you would. Plus, he'll put his special mojo into it!

Can't go wrong with the devil dog.

P.S. Don't use foam peanuts in your packing or he will hunt you down. ;)

Reassurance that Jon will do your guitar right?!?!

Man, that's like dating Jessica Alba and needing reassurance from your buddies that she's hot! :p

Are you saying in a Freudian way that you think Jon's hot? :p

OT but funny

I'll have to check that number. My company had an 800 number years ago. They switched to another 800 number probably around 1988.

Unforutnately, some marketing junk (paperwieghts, pens, etc.) with the old 800 number continued to exist 'in the wild' for several years after.

Even more unfortunately, our former 800 number had been reassigned to some sort of phone sex outfit. You can't make this stuff up...

Anyway, the old 800 number was gone when I started with the company, so I'll have to do some research and see if the one in this thread might happen to be it!
