WWWHHOOO!! wait a minute!!! NO DIAMONDS!!! :D

LOL!!! I didn't say diamonds. I said jewelry! :p
If you attach sentiment to it, then something from the bubble gum machine will suffice. Or there's a guy with a trenchcoat (not the flasher) on the corner that....;)

It doesn't matter what you buy her. You just need to make her "cough" feel more special than you guitars!

Wow, that's brutal Brent. Thank goodness my girl likes when I get a new axe, or I'd be up sh*t's creek at least once every two months.

Brent, I've been there. Take a breather and listen to Beth and/or Foggy. You got a kid now, everything has changed. There are a ton of guitars I would love to buy, but the family comes first. I've passed on a 20th, DD, Luke, JP, Axis Sport, Sterling, Stingray and a couple of Silo's.

You gotta know when to step back and hold off for a while. Your wife will cool off and when a great buy comes along, show her and feel her out before taking the plunge.

Good luck man. Glenn |B)

I agree with Ernie, my wife is cool about gtr as long as there is no inpact on Family budget, and I have to convince her only once a year (Very close to JimyD for that :D )

Nevertheless Brent, your collection is an investment so you are not loosing any money, not like buying a brand new car every year.

Suggestions : But all your guitars on Ebay with a ridiculous reserve (100 000$) see how high it will go and show the real value of your collection to your wife ;)

I am sure we can even help you by bidding let's say up to 4000$ per unit :p

Then (cause she will know you are a rich man) invite her to restaurant !

isn't it a great idea ? well maybe not cause she will surely ask for a diamond !!!!

S"you bought another f*****g guitar!" "If buy one more guitar, i'm cutting your balls off!"

This line isn't as classy as the one my mum just pulled out after I just got in from having fresh ink put on my arm:

"No! Don't come near me! No!

*looks at slightly bloody wrap around arm*

No! I can feel pain in my backside!"

You gotta listen to this chap. It is the same thing i would have said. I have passed up on a ton of stuff (dargie, larry andrews axis, 20th) for the better of my family. I will get more 1 day, just not yet.

All the best,

Jonny

THis is so true. I bought four guitars in one year (including my Axis) without asking my wife, and it took me at least 6 months to dig myself out of the hole I was in.

Now, things go better when I include her in the deal. She'll go the guitar stores with me and make note of which ones I like, so she can buy them for me later. :D

We also have a deal worked out where if I want another guitar, I have to be willing to give up one that I already own. It's a good deal, except for the torture of deciding which one stays and which one goes.

Yah my wife and I have that same sort of deal. But I love the ones that I have, so I find it difficult to part with any one guitar.

Brent, maybe you need to take a break and space out your purchases, maybe this is the problem that your wife is having.

Johnny and Tony, thanx. :)

I'm in a similar situation as far as family, where I'm putting guitar-buying on hold. I'm still adding a little each month to my stash but realize some of it (all if necessary) will go toward the family if we can't swing things. If we can swing things w/o dipping in the fund, I will have saved up that much more $ to buy something even better than if I had spent it right now (always wanted a NOS or Mint EVH, possible newly designed Luke next year, SMY2d etc....) The waiting and saving is also the fun part for me.
