EBMM JP Specification Matrix

Hey EB Forum members.

I've been lurking around since the beginning of the year. After deciding on a EBMM as my next guitar, I realized there was no way to easily discern the difference between the various Petrucci models. It took a little time, but I have created a matrix on Google Docs. I have decided to share it here so it might help others in the future decide on which JP model suits them. Everything is self explanatory. In the "comments" section, I tried my best to briefly describe what made that particular JP model unique in the lineup. These comments might need to be fleshed out and I welcome any input on this, or on any errors that might be found.

That is terrific . Thank you for your hard work on this. I do respectfully think the neck specs on the standard JP6 are incorrect that looks like a 7 string spec

Fixed. Looks like I had switched JP6 and JP7

Added part about unfinished neck. I left out the light weight feature since Majesty has set a new bar for that.

Thanks for putting that together! Don't want to be picky but I'd check the pickups for the JP6 and JP7. I have the JP7 and the liquidfire and crunchlab weren't around at that point. I"m pretty sure they came out in 2009 and my guitar is from 2004.

Yea if you did this, and maybe included pics of all the various colors/paint jobs, you'd be da man. Then maybe included the Sterling by MM...

It took a little time, but I have created a matrix on Google Docs.

There is a similar matrix on Jemsite for all Ibanez Jem models, I always wondered why the JPs didn't have such a thing. Big thank you, man.

As for a suggestion, it would be nice if you could also convert the values to the metric system, for non-US readers.

A few people have mentioned this. Looking back at an older forum thread, it looks like the pickup configuration for the JP6 has changed through the years. According to member roburado, the liquifire/crunch lab combo happened around 2009.

The document reflects what the specifications are as shown on the current EB JP6 product page.

I'll do a little research and maybe add configurations from previous iterations.

I think the stock string gauges have changed, as well as the fret types. Most have stainless steel frets now. The pickups also have definitely changed over the years, as well as the other options.

I used to look at the JP models quite a bit, but they just really aren't for me. I'm much more of a classic rocker type.

Another interesting addition might be a good timeline that catalogues the various gauges JP has switched between over the years/months.
