i usually buy most of my gear from a local shop where all the guys know me. I dont need to talk them down ever ... they usually have their stuff market cheaper than GC and I've been such a loyal customer that i never pay the what it says on the sticker ...

im not "hard" enough to jabber about prices ... ive found that a good relationship with the store gets ya hooked up: they treat u good, you come back (over, and over and over again)

The store i go to is normally like that too they're my main store and we are all cool. and he does all the maintence on my basses for free. But Not every store carries what your looking for

I have to agree with Joel... $600 on an $1800 asking price is an awful lot of 'wiggle room'.

And there are LOTS of amp heads over $1800, urwords... look at a Boogie, or a Soldano or other 'boutique' amp. Heck, $1800 is about what a Marshall JCM2000 TSL is going for these days. (And that price just went up about $400 a few months back due to the weak dollar vs. pound issue.)

Not everyone plays a Crate, y'know... ;)
