I may pop in there next time I'm in Vegas

Feels odd in there. Like they'd rather not have customers actually enter their store.

I treat my visit like I do an art gallery. I go in and look, but not buy.

Will they let me in if I'm wearing EB gear??

Ok, against my better judgement I have a T-Shirt from the store in question. What forfit should become of it?

Answers on a postcard please....
As much as I want to say, "get a video camera and tape it being:
-lit on fire
-dragged down a dirt road behind a car
-cleaning the toilet....at a truckstop."

....I think it would serve a better cause if you donated it to a charity (Goodwill, ARC, AmVets, etc).

Congrats to EBMM:)

Although, I don't like to knock people down........especially when I've never met the man, he doesn't seem to have a very good reputation, does he?

Tell me where to send it, and I will send it!

4. Ed Roman must post an apology to EBMM and John Petrucci for making and advertising the copy Petrucci guitars and bodies.
This I have to see. Do you have a link to it?

I'm leaning toward ARC today. They're all great charities, and very appreciative.

www.thearc.org

The site has tons of info on where to send it or drop it off (and any other stuff you would like to donate).
Idea: Have a garage sale, make a few bucks, then put the rest in boxes and ARC will come by and pick it all up AND give you a receipt for your donation! That's a helladeal in my book.

Plus, it's good karma. Something that guy in Vegas should probably look into.

god, isn't THAT the bloody truth. I HATE HATE HATE HATE buying guitars and amps. salespeople in guitar stores act like you're buying a damn car. part of the problem is that salespeople, for the most part are overprogramed, overtrained, underpaid customer service goons. ready for a laugh: I spent the better part of a decade as a luggage salesman (don't ask). the manufacturers, distributors, sales reps and upper management hand you a book that has the word "sell" is big, bold letters repeated on each page at least a dozen times, with clear instructions that the only way to sell your product is by pushing manufacturer backed promotions, and TELLING your customer what they want, because listening to them takes too much time. regardless of what they want: sell what's on promotion because the manuf. gave the company a good deal.

this creates a negitive, authoritarian atmosphere that reduces customers to irritants to be bagged, stamped, and gotten rid of quickly because if you don't, they might mess up a display you spent 30 min. putting together.

having sold things for so bloody long, I just HATE some $5.15 an hour communitity college dropout getting in my face while I'm pondering dropping over a grand on a guitar, giving me a rehearsed script to make sure I know that their "company culture" is cool and detatched, and then dashing off back to the sales counter to bitch about the customers to his little buddies.

thank god for music man. I can now completly bypass the "trying out" phase. I just pick out a color, and take it home. aahhh... quality control.

This reminds me of my last visit to my local guitar/music shop. I found an Axis super sport, and tried it out for a while unplugged, with the sales people still leaving me alone. Then I asked for the price, and the sales guy started bragging about how incredibly cheap I could get it, compared to other shops. This was a load of crap, considered the guitar was actually used. Then he let me try it with an amp, but since it had the mm90 singlecoils, I didn't really want it. When I was done I told him I'm mostly interested in a Morse model. Then he starts to bash Steve Morse, and saying that Dimarzio pickups are crap. Then he suggests that i should buy the Axis, and install some Seymore Duncans, or buy a PRS. I was tempted to tell him in clear language where he could shove his PRS's and Duncans, but I bit my tongue and left. It will be a cold day in hell before I set foot in that shop again.
