Hi chiefs, has it been reported to you that often, when the forum has a lot of memebers online, opening a thread is veeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy slowwwwwwwwwwwwww?

Thanks for investigating & reporting

It's a great forum and a real testament to Mr. Sterling Ball and his family and co-workers, but it could be a lot better if these delays were overcomed.

Many thanks for listening.

To go back to the top, just hit the HOME key on your keyboard. The forum works fine for me. The mai page takes some loading but then it's smooth.

What is that supposed to mean, mate? Would you care to explain by pm, cause I ain't getting it, and it ain't making me laugh either.

The site is slow and that is a fact, it would need a larger memory database capable of handling the higher volume of both subscrivers and visitors which the forum is having recently.

As BP righlty said, they have had a substantial increase in activity obvioulsy due to the new interest created by the 25th Anniversary models, there have been times that to open one thread has taken take up to a whole minute, specially from 21:00 to 23:00 Greenwich meantime.

BP said that he had to have one of his IT chaps out the other week end to sort out a problem.

I know that I tried to get on just the other day and couldn't access Ernieball.com for quite some time.

In the few years I've used the site, EB seems to resolve issues quickly.

I'm sure that EB has it under control - and Chewie would be asking for feedback if he needed it.

For what it's worth - yes I have had problems too - which means I get back to playing more guitar.

(As I type this there are 126 active users. 125 now as it's time for bed)

Chill Cap, it's all meant as humour, it's been covered a couple of times the speed, and the fact BP, Chewie and all the EB folks have got it under control......and the arrival of the new server....

What I mean is that we all from time-to-time arm-chair mod, I just find it extra funny, when we tell people who have their own IT staff how to fix things, if the situation were reversed and a relative stranger told you how to run your business infrastructure how would you respond!?!?? - (that's the part I find funny)

I'll make it up to you at the UK Bash.... remain calm! - ;)

don't worry about Smelly, I am cool, no need to make it up to me at the UK bash, no grudges.

Life's too short, when you chase basses you can't get for the love nor the money :D

music-man.com has been moved to the new server as well as some other sites that were hosted on this server.

Gonna start on moving eb.com over after lunch. Probably won't get that completed today. There's a lot more going on with moving the eb site. It also will require the forums be taken down for moment or two.

Lastly bandwidth is on order and that really should help things. I can't remember what the lead time was on that.

I think that everybody needs to remember that we arent a big company with layers of dilberts and supervisors. The people are working their asses off getting state of the art video for the namm show..building the namm show booth (all in house) and getting a second line introduced and another
500 options....patience is really important for something that you dont pay for.

thanks
