It is not quite an Old Smoothie 5 based on the pictures. No extra pole piece for the pickup and seems to be 3 band EQ and not 2. I guess it could be the same exact pickup, with the strings aligned over the pole pieces. Don't know how that may influence the tone in any way.

Assumed the Old Smoothie had just the regular 2 band preamp found in the classics. Is it different?

Anyone have an idea of when we can start ordering these new colors? I know these are the 2017 models, so clearly next year, but is Jan or more like spring time? Any know from previous announcements of new colors when they start rolling out?
 
The original link now has dates for pre-order...Most say pre-sales begin 3.3.17 though one has 4.3.17.
 
Went ahead and put a Firemist Purple Bongo 6 on order, was told 3-6 months build time. I'm assuming that's beginning in March seeing as the pre-sales say 3.3.17 right?

I am sure it will be worth the wait!

Want a Firemist Purple stingray or Sterling HH. But will wait until they announce the next PDN. Don't want to order one and risk that I want the PDN instead. Wouldn't be able to get both.
 
If the Firmest gold Bongo 4 had an ebony board, I would not be able to resist - would look so 'tight' with the black hardware...the rw is a bit of a clash for my eye...but that is just me..

Mint Green and Butterscotch Old Smoothie? drooooool...
 
hmmm cool colors are back.... hope some day the piezo option will be back!
