Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray Knockoff? Please Help?

Can anyone please tell me if they know if this left handed Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray is a fake? I'm not familiar enough with Ernie Ball guitars enough to know if it is a fake. I have been using Warwick for a long time but I am thinking about purchasing this guitar from someone. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm buying it off of craigslist and I heard there is many fakes of the stingray going around with the Ernie Ball label on it. I posted these pics on a few forums and everyone's says it is definitely real so far.

It looks like a real Ball Family Reserve (BFR) rosewood neck Stingray to me.

Thank you, I had the guy send me the serial pic as well just to make sure. Me being a lefty I cant believe I found this in my home town.

from all I've seen, it definitely looks real to me. the fakes I've seen are easily spotted. You should post that serial number in the serial number thread to see if you can find out more info about it.

I think it would be very unlikely that a fake would have that finish. They would tend to have more easily replicated finishes. In any case, as Tbone says, post the serial in the serial # thread and find out if you want to be absolutely sure.

That's right DUH! I knew that. Plus I have NEVER seen a fake that utilized the Ball Family Reserve tag.

Looks more like transparent orange than gold too me.

Either way, it's a really nice looking bass.

Thank guys for your input. I feel much better now. I'm actually going to pick it up today. I found it online from someone in my home town. He doesn't even play bass. He just traded some guns for it with a buddy of his to have it as a collectible. I'm getting it for a steal. Trading him an ipad mini and a HP laptop. What luck to find a left handed bass like this one near me without having to order it. I never had the opportunity to play a Stingray. They never have really good left handed basses in the music shops.

I'm not sure the color of it. I will post some more pics up when I get it.

Truly a rather challenging version to counterfeit, but one
hasta be suspicious about it since it's built backwards ....

Mustave been cloned in one of them 3-D Printers but the
image got flopped left to right
