Thanks Ernie1966!
So for me it's down to a Silo w/ Carbon Blue Pearl or Blue Pearl with a white pearloid pick guard and all maple neck, trem w/ piezo.
Those 2 colours from what I can tell are just beautiful! It's just that in certain lighting, I'm a little nervous that I wouldn't be getting what I would hop that I was.

Thanks again.

Your welcome. If ya want my 2 cents on which color you should choose between the two blues, I would go with the Carbon Blue. Pearl Blue is very bright and happy while Carbon Blue has a more dark, mature look to it. It's hard to explain, bit that's how I feel when I look at the two colors side by side.

Thanks.

I very much appreciate the opinion. Especially since you have both (and everything else! :D )
I am leaning towards the Carbon for that exact reason. You probably got that drift from me from my choice of back up colours.
Thanks again. You really helped make a tough choice a lot easier since I have yet to come across any of those colours in a store.
Once I get it, I will be proudly posting pics. :D

Fogman,
Not to make your decision more difficult, but I was facing the same issue before I bought my JP6. Believe it or not, I ended up going with Sapphire Black! I originally wanted Blue Pearl, but after seeing pictures, thought it was a bit 'happy' as described. I liked the Carbon Blue Pearl because it had more gray in it. I actually was looking for something with even more gray in it. As it turns out, Sapphire Black is more like gray with hints of blue and purple - more of a gunmetal color. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case you want something with even MORE gray....

Here are a couple of pics. The flash makes it look lighter than it does under standard lighting:

MikeVT - if you'd tried to explain that colour to me, I wouldn't have liked it, but your Pet looks amazing - I am shocked how good that guitar looks - def worth considering if anyone is in the market for a new guitar :)

Thanks MikeVT.

That's very nice. And yes it does make my desicion more difficult. ;)

Black was a strong consideration for me. Because the Silo has a pickguard, it does change the look of things. Solid black is too much. Since I want an all maple neck. A white pickguard makes it look like a killer whale! A black guard seems to be too much black (I've already had a guitar with that colour combo).

The Sapphire Black is very nice. I've seen other pics before but they weren't as nice as yours.

Oh what to do?

I'm gonna chime in with another 2 cents. Sapphire Black is an amazing color!!!
Like Mike said, it has hints of blue and purple in it when you look at it from certain angles be-a-u-tiful!!!

Doesn't OC have a Sapblack Silhoutte??

If is a choice betwen Carbblue and Sapblack, Sapblack alll the way, especially if you are getting a white pickguard.

Yes, OC actually got his Sapphire Black Silhouette from me :)

The color looks a bit flat in this picture because of how the camera focused. The pic posted above is a much better representation of Sapphire Black.

There's a few Carbon Blue Pearl pics here, and some nice birdseye ;)

How’s about a comparison of SapBlack (Love that shortened name) and graphite pearl (GrapHearl?)?

Well, I just happened to take some pics of a Graphite Pearl JP last night.

Graphite Pearl - there is a little bit of case dust on it, since I didn't wipe it down first it shows up yellow

Sapphire Black (from previous page)

Cud, thanks :)

Frank, I have a few 7 strings on order, I think 1 is available - I will check the color but I think it's a fully loaded Carbon Blue.

Boy this is getting harder! :p
I'm going to have to buy one of each like ernie1966 ;)

Pete (or anyone)

Any chance somebody could post a body pic of Graphite Pearl? :)
This is the first I see this colour.
From the name, I admittedly pictured something very different.

That is beautiful from what I see so far.

Sure, biggy pic tho :)

It looks a bit lighter than the headstock pic because it was in near direct sunlight when the pictures were taken. The headstock pic is a more accurate color.

Hey thanks, Jimmy! I agree - the guys at EB did a great job on this color. Sorry to make your job more difficult Fogman! :(
From the new pics, it looks like Graphite Pearl is the next 'gray' down...even more gray and less color than SapBlack. Also very cool....

Also, for what it's worth, there's a body shot of a Carbon Blue Pearl Pet on JP's website:
http://www.johnpetrucci.com/ebmm.html

PM Blues also has some pics of various colors:

Hey foggey,

If I get the chance tomorrow, I'll take some side by side pics of all three colors(Sapblack, Grafpearl, Carbblue) in the daylight and post 'em.
