Lets talk all about axis and axis super sports guitars

Can be about any topic and/or pictures you'll like to share specifically to the axis guitars,

I would start the conversation asking about the 2024 line up;
1. What do you think of this new line up?, To me its just phenomenal, pretty well crafted instruments and the quality looks superb
2. Do you like the color options offered this year?, I liked the Matcha Green, Charcoal and honey pot color options, I was fortunate enough to get a hold of the honey pot option and man, love it
3. What features you like the most on this release?, I like the SS frets (do not know if they were offered previously), also the roasted maple neck

OK this is a broad subject, start with Axis, love everything about them except the Floyd, just do not get along with it, but otherwise fantastic guitars, wish they made a hardtail still.

The current offering is nice, like the green one best.

I have always lover the Super Sport and currently own two, will have to take a picture soon of them.

I love my Super Sport, it's one of my best guitars among 16 and one of those I love more, together with the Silho.
I'm playing with this guitar a lot in these times and it never disappoints me.
I love the body shape, the neck profile, the tremolo precise sweetness, the pickups sound and the overall ergonomy.
It has no defects to me...
Like the Luke, it's something designed by a guy who definitely knew what he did.
And EBMM realized it.

Would I love to own a second one? Yes, Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior!
Definitely yes.

I always preferred the Super Sport to the Floyd Rose Axis, also because of its 5-ways pickups selector and added tone control, that makes this model a very verstatile guitar: it's a Strat, it's a Tele, it's a Les Paul....it's many different guitars in one, but at the end it's just an Axis Super Sport, with its own character and tone.
And I love it.

I can play pretty much anything on this guitar.
I was hunting it high and low for years, exactly how it looks and plays and when I found it I pulled the trigger without esitation.

I also have a 90s SS with the P90 pickups, and it has the best tone of any of my guitars. i even found and bought an extra pair of this exact pickups off reverb in case anything ever happens to mine. i also love how the early Axis’s inset the neck and back plates. it is a nice touch that i don’t think they do anymore. i haven ever played an HH version, abut id love to grab one at some point.

My first EBMM is a Reflex in 2017, then I picked up 3 Axis models over the years, a '12 Super Sport gold quilt, '19 BFR purple quilt, and most recently a '99 Axis "gravity games". When I tried that Reflex it was like an awakening - never played a guitar that felt so right, including the vibrato. Got rid of the floyd rose guitars, never looked back. Kept my LP Classic and Nash relic strat. Picked up an 02 JP6 last year just to have 24 frets, and that guitar is further proof that you dont need a locking vibrato to go insane. But overall, the Axis model is just the best overall guitar. EBMM did it just right~

I'm still holding out for a Super Sport with a piezo. There's been a couple go through the used markets but I've been too slow or they've been super expensive.

I really really really (please!) wish that EBMM would put the piezo option back in a lot of their guitars. Modellers and impulse responses have made these so much more usable these days vs how problamatic they were back in their heyday.

I just got a grap on an 1999 Axis MM90. Guitar sounds and plays great and so I am trying to understand what it actually is. Serial number lookup states January 26th, 1999. Name Axis special trem. Serial number is G05150 (yes! Just like the Van Halen album :))
On the headstock it is named Axis (no Sport, no Supersport) but it is equipped with the vintage tremolo and not with the Floyd Rose. Message from Music Man indicates that it MIGHT be a special order for a musician or an employee, thus the name Axis Special Trem.

Any ideas what I might have here?

Nice looks like a super sport with an Axis label congrats
Yes but I would expect to see this also as model description in the serial number lookup........spotcheck shows Axis Sport oder Axis Supersport for some other numbers, but mine is the only one I found where they state "Axis Special".

My favourite MM guitar by a country mile, I prefer the older ones, better colours and matching headstocks but all are fine fine fine instruments.

1999 Sport - Had a little fun with this, perhaps a bit Dikkers 'Sparklecaster' inspired.
