Just saw this for sale on another site, was wondering if it ever had any stage time or anything. . . . NOt like I have 17k lying around, but it's an interesting conversation piece. . .

Music Man Van Halen Signature OWNED BY EDDIE EXCELLENT | EVH Eddie Van Hallen Electric Guitar Collection at Guitar Hangar | Electric Guitar Brands at Guitar Hangar | Guitar Hangar

I recently read that Eddie gave away a load of guitars (mostly his collection of Peavy Wolfgangs) to school music programs. So, it is possible at some point Eddie offloaded his EBMM guitars somewhere as well...

Not sure that the fact that EVH owned it is worth a $15K premium. Not to me, at least.

Look at the crappy charvels they are producing that he plays for one song during a concert and signs. I'm not sure what they actually sell for, but they are asking $20,000.

A guitar is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.......at that moment in time, I guess.
Then, massive depreciation kicks in !! Especially, on that.

$15k is a bit much. I would say, $5k is acceptable. Someone else would say, $1k is acceptable.

Were the Frankenstrat copies for $25k really worth $25k ?? No way!!
That same guitar could be made at home for $800

The price is that high to see if someone is stupid enough to pay it.

Very true, all around. However, I THINK that if there was photo proof and proper documentation, just MAYBe that price tag isn't out of the realm. . . But I would want to see photo matched stage shots, serial number correlation, etc. . . Lest we forget the $20,000 'Frankenstrat' Replica's from a certain so-cal company a couple years ago. . .

Im with you Tommy .... $5K ... TOPS ! There is a reason those $25K replicas quickly went down to $10 - $12K.
Guitar also looks in mint condition, which leads me to believe that he may never have played it (given they way he typically treated his guitars).

If he did own it, than cool.... The Purple he had on the cover of Guitar World from early 90's was neat.

Wonder where that guitar is ?? I doubt they are the same. But still, a lotta money.

The Axis guitars made really good improvements from the EVH model,
so make sure you have at least 5 of those laying around :):D;)

BP - How about a White Top Axis with Matching Headstock ??!!

guitar hangar also has a red that I checked out...not very nice at all, good shape but almost no quilt. The story on that guitar is it was owned by him, doesnt mean he played it. It just means it was made for him and shipped to him. They also said they have the documents to prove it and its mint

Perhaps MM could confirm the red one. It would seem strange to me that MM would send out an artist guitar with a sub par top.

I just had a flash of being EVH in the early 90's, sun shining and EBMM's showing up, one or two in every color with a few one of kind customs showing up....that's some good stuff right there!
