I was watching the 1992 gig last night from the Van Halen Right Here Right now tour.
Lots of tasty close ups of Eddies guitar which was great to see.
I have 2 questions that popped into my mind

1) On the song Spanked Eddie plays a double neck that sounds like a Baritone which must be pretty rare, any ideas how many of these are out there?

2) Did any of you guys go to that actual gig in May 1992, it was in Fresno

Cheers

I believe it was custom made for Eddie and is a one off, and i was only 10 in 1992, but would have loved to be there. I saw them with Cherone, and that was an AWESOME show!

A one off, wow, that is pretty special, wonder if Eddie still has it, I saw them in 1993 and it was also an awesome show. Eddie and the boys really were on top form then.

Are you talking about that purple double neck?

I have had an eye out for one like that and have never ever seen one.

(waiting for a purple PDN run where I can get an Axis double neck with trans purple maple cap -- hahahaha)

I don't think they made any double neck EVHs other than the few that went to Ed.

I'm pretty sure it was only the Wolfgang guitars that he gave away... I'm sure the EBMMs that he wanted to give away were long gone by then. I would think its safe to assume that he still has several EBMMs and Peaveys in his personal collection. We will just never see them in his hands.

I heard that he auctioned the ebmms off, im sure he probably kept his num 1 trans gold quilt that has 5150 on the bottom, but maybe not? Ed seems like the kinda guy that is very into his new EVH brand and might have nothing but his new ones, ( which are great too) but I really loved his peaveys, and of course the ebmm's i have a peavey and they are top notch! And today in GC i played a bfr axis quilt with rosewood board ( and the most obscene birdseye ever!) it was a pleasure to play through a 6505+ head and cab! Tone for days!

If anyones interested i. That bfr trans black quilt with crazy birdseye its in the Boston GC on Boyleston st. It was $1799 i think, what a gem! It has the bfr badge, so it must be NOS.

Maybe not in the hands but what about his workbench? This pic was taken from March of this year. :D

Note: I cropped out the non-EBMM guitar in the original pic to keep this relevant to the topic.

That's a nice catch seeing that on his work bench! I've seen that photo before and totally missed it.

Just found an article that says 2 double necks were made for EVH. A purple one and a red one. Serial numbers 80016 and 80003. The article also mentions BP and Guy Wallace. Good read.
