I have a MusicMan Axis that requires a truss rod adjustment to adjust the strings quite frequently, even something as simple as taking to band rehearsal or an open mic night will require an adjustment as the neck as moved. I have other guitars (mostly Fenders) that don't require any seasonal adjustments to play. It doesn't get very humid here in Nova Scotia so I'm wondering if this is just something I have to deal with or if there may be an issue with my guitar.

I've done some cursory research online but wasn't able to find anything regarding this issue specifically. What should my first course of action be here?

When is the last time you oiled the neck? Is the neck really dry by any chance? Is the neck bolted tightly to the body?

Thanks for the quick response!

Neck doesn't feel dry at all. I haven't removed the neck so couldn't attest personally to how tightly attached it is to the body. I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and I've never owned a guitar that required such frequent truss rod adjustments.

I think it's just that particular piece of wood. I've owned several MMs and one that I currently have requires frequent adjustments- like yours does. Fortunately, that's a particularly easy thing to do. Another one i have requires an adjustment maybe once a year. It's wood - anything and everything could affect it.

I agree with Norrin but the sad truth is that it makes the guitar almost unusable for gigging.

What are the chances that Ernie Ball will replace the neck?
