Favorite Bass tuner?

IF your strobin - peterson all the way,
IF your giggin - BOSS TU-15.

Thanks for everyone's input on this. I decided to go with the Boss TU-2 since, as The Rodg said, I'll be using it mostly for gigin'. I do appreciate the value of a good strobe tuner. After all, that was all I had back in the 60's to practice my tuning on my trumpet. I will eventually pick a Peterson up just for set up purposes.

What's wrong with an ear ?

I use my mouth and my ear

"Justin, give me an 'E'.........now give me an 'A'..... yeah that will do!"

OK, maybe not everyone has access to a keyboard player who is always concert pitch.

I did have a tuner once, I won it in a bass magazine contest. It was the only competition I ever won in my life and then some b**t*rd stole it from the top of my amp whilst we were in between sets.

Stuck to my ear every since.

thats not the tuner's fault, thats your bass. the korg's are ultimately accurate, thats why they move if ur guitar isnt absolutly perfect in tune. this is hard to get without the buzz feiten nut or earvana nut. if it only moves 1-2 cents after a half note. its fine. your in tune. those other tuners that dont move around don't have the sensitivity of korg tuners. its a false insurance compared to a true disappointment....

+1

My korg CA-30 did the job fine. It did not have the mute for silent tuning. Heck in tune is in tune no matter how you get there. I preferr the TU-2 for the muting it offers. Chromatic tuners IMHO are the best. Don't matter diddly who makes em.

For my money the TU-2 is the one for only the muting feature. Not that any are bad or not good. Just the first one I seen with the feature.

Best way to know if you are in tune is to play. NO matter what tuner. Them guitars and keyboards will let ya know fast if you missed.

IMHO tk

In my rack with my head and wireless, I have a Korg DT1-Pro, which does the trick. I had the sabine one (not the new 7000 ones, but the older one), but it didn't float my boat that much.

I also have a tu2 that I like a lot for tuning at home & stuff. I just wanted to keep my signal chain contained within my SKB rack case.

I also use this same tuner as Chris and love it. Very reasonable and the lights are so pretty.. ;)

i buy those $15 little black korgs tuner. i use it for abouth 6 months then it breaks and i eventually buy another one ... i toss it around so its bound to break.

... a tuner's pretty low on my list of gear to spend a lot of money on. ive played many sessions and borrowed many expensive tuners and ive never really been able to tell enough of a difference to justify spending over $20

Strobostomp has muting as well, just in case anyone wanted to know.

I have an old Boss CT-6, it works perfectly! I once found this thing in a sports hall, don't know how it got there, but I'm happy with it. The only thing that was missing was the battery cover, but that's easily replaced by duck tape:)
This tuner is in my student room to tune my guitar, at home I use a Zoom effects pedal to tune, that's the only purpose the thing has left. I 'd like to have a Boss TU-2, seems convenient :D

From all the tuners I had.. the T-U2 pleased me the most.
