Hi I'm Rose (get it Janice)(I'll tell the story another time :p)

I was going to ask everyone what their favorite guitar solo would be but then I thought geee that might be too broad of a question.

So.. Between
1. Steve Morse, Steve Vai, Pertucci? Favorite solo?

2. Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, Jimi Page? Favorite solo?

3. Eric Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Brian May? Favorite solo?

4. Satch, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen? Favorite solo?

Mine are: Hmmmm I'm thinking I'm thinking...
This isn't easy. haha I'm trying to think how to change around the names so I would have one from each group. :D

Ok for number 1 I would have to say Morse with Hereafter even though I think For the Love of God is amazing.

For 2 Gilmour - Comfortable Numb

For 3 Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover

For 4 I am going with Eddie with Eruption. I love when it changes at the 57 sec mark.

Stay well.

1. Steve Vai - Ballerina 12-24
2. Jimmy Page - White Summer
3. Brian May - I Want to Break Free
4. Satch - Flying In a Blue Dream

...I know someone's gonna think those are odd choices!

First, let me say that I liked robelinda's choices.. "On the Turning Away" and "Desert Rose" are great solos. (My fav EJ solo is probably "When the Sun Meets the Sky".)

1. Steve Vai - "Blue Powder"

2. Gilmour - "Another Brick in the Wall"

3. Hendrix - "Bold as Love"

4. EVH - "One foot out the Door"

Ask me next week and I'm likely to give other answers. There are just so many good solos from all of those players!

Hi:

1) Steve Vai : Ladies Night in Buffalo
2) Page : Heartbreaker
3) could not pick one for Jimi (I have in mind just great riffs + rhythmic parts), so I'll take EJ's Zzap
4) EVH : Feel your love tonight

'On the turning away' is great, especially the live version from DSOT.

Hmm, let's see..

1) Don't really know any of them well enough (my bad)

2) Gilmour-Comfortably Numb (aka Come on Big Bum)

3) No preference

4) Clapton-Badge

Well, that's my choice today. Tomorrow may well be completely different!

:)

1. a Tie between Steve Morse - Soemtimes I feel like screaming: Live in Melbourne '99 & John Petrucci Spirit Carries On Live: Score.

2. David Gilmour - Not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but you just have to choose a song to and hear a great solo.

3. Brian May - Bijuo, Good Company, Millionaire Waltz, Let Me Live (anything really - he has never played a solo on record that did not 'fit').

4. Eddie Van Halen - Dreams: So basic yet so cool.

Could be I didn't listen to it since 1988 :( as I don't have the CD and no way to listen to my tape anymore

I remember that this guitar part bring a large smile on my face each time I hear it :D
