I haven't taken the chance yet to publicly thank projectapollo here... nor have a taken the opportunity to share my thoughts on switching back to a 5'er..... and then there is the whole opinion on a solid Rosewood neck thang
.
But first!
This thing is beautiful and plays like a dream.
projectapollo is one stand up guy, and he has helped me out to no end with this. I am very grateful for his help and for the pleasure of meeting such a great person. Really, major kudos! Thank you Sir again for everything! I also have to give props to Brian at Washington Music Center, he is quite awesome too!
For me the Low-B (still) makes sense, and the string spacing is very comfortable. There is some re-adjustment going on in my fingers, but I've committed myself to doing the 5-banger thing... so it is all good. I was nervous about the inbound Dargie II, but now I am very much at ease. That B string could tame the savage wilderness.... knock down mountains.... make you slap yo' mama 'cause its so good....
The Rosewood neck is the cat's meow... it tastes like chicken.... it plays like buddaa... it... well you get the picture. It feels smoother than the maple to me for some reason.... I am really impressed by it, and to me just polishes this package off perfectly. I love the way it feels and the way it looks. I've never been one for Maple boards, so this is great for me to finally have a 1-piece of my chosen fingerboard material... if you get a chance to check one of these out, I would recommend it.
And for those who care about that sort of thing... this thing is really alot lighter than I expected... maybe a tad bit more than my previous 4HSS.
So yes, as my signature states... I'm a happy boy! Thanks to everyone involved again from BP, to Brian, to projectapollo.... you all rock!
