Last night after the last tune, I hopped down to talk to the people at our table and since it was right there, kept my bass strapped on. I slung it around behind my back, something I've done about a billion times before, and the straplock by the bridge just let go. I never had a chance.
The brand new 30th Anniversary Stingray bounced off the hardwood floor. What a horrible noise that is.
I inspected it quite thoroughly this morning and I can't find any damage. Maybe a little tiny thingy by that bottom strap button, but it doesn't really look like much at all. The pickguard seems to have been scratched, but hey, it's a pickguard. Other than that - nothing.
Built like a tank. Unbelievable. What tough instruments! Photos in a bit.
