Not sure what you mean by "short in musical content." Care to elaborate for us?

Yes: I fealt there were a few very original ideas (melodies, riffs, etc) but I felt there where not too many, perhaps one per song, and there was not much development on them. Perhaps I am guilty of listening to too much Dream Theater and classical music and expect every new turn to be something special, while this is more straightforward, "commercial" music. Nothing wrong in the music, just in my taste.

Buying it today if I can get out to the store, otherwise, I will be placing an order online. Either way, I'll be getting it really soon, totally excited about this album.

Man, this is one of the best albums I have heard in the last 10 years. I am thoroughly blown away. From the first notes of Blue Ocean ("Standby Studio... And Good Luck"), Kayla is gorgeous, The Storm is a masterpiece that you can't help but sing, all the way to the end.

Steve Morse has great tones here! Dave Larue's bass parts on Blue Ocean set the pace for the whole record!

I like the music so far but haven't completely connected with it yet (only one listen-through so far). It's the type of music that will get stronger as I listen to it a few times. The singer reminds me of that guy from Coldplay.

Wow. Really great music! Next listen I will not use shuffle. I didn't get the true flow of things. A little ballad heavy with the way the tracks were played by iTunes.

Finally got it yesterday!

Sounds awesome, and Steve surely is in top form. His playing is amazing, and his tone...legend.

Very well balanced album throughout. I was expecting maybe something more "virtuoso" but was pleasantly surprised by hearing melodies, hooks, and very tasty 70´s vibe playing.

Very recommended. Waiting for part 2!

Portnoy is not as busy overplaying nor is he too up front in the mix. Hard core drummers may be disappointed? You can actually forget that it's him on the drums...for a little while.

YES! This one of the things that drives me crazy about a lot of Dream Theater tracks. Mangini's drums are mixed much better in the new album as well.

I really like the record. I like pretty much every song, though I'd say the three standout tracks are "Blue Ocean", "The Storm", and "Infinite Fire". "Shoulda Coulda Woulda" is great driving track, especially the drums at the end. The bass part of "Forever In a Daze" ROCKS. "Kayla" and "Everything Changes" are two very epic sounding tracks. Anyone looking for a little more of the Dream Theater sound should check out "All Falls Down".

All in all it's a great album. I hope this group sticks together for a few more and I'll definitely try to see them live.

I like this album a lot and my only complaint is that a few of the songs have too much of a Muse vibe for my liking. Overall a really great album though.

I guess I like it too. So far, I have bought 7 copies (6 for gifts) and a t-shirt.

I really like this album, but I can't really get into the singing on it. Musically it's amazing, and I can respect how good the singer is, he's just not my cup of tea. It's good to see that so many people enjoy the album though. My local record store that I go to only got one copy in (and I was the one who ordered it).
