Hello, Cleveland!

Do you think you could do something like nigel does on bottom? Yeah, I've got ten fingers, I can do it.

David, Smell the Glove is here. Hello Janine.

"We're very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries, David and Nigel, they're like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They're two distinct types of visionaries, it's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water."

Guess it's been about 14 years total, but it was off-and-on for a lot of those middle years. I've really gotten back into it over the past couple of years

You know what's funny...I don't practice as much as I used to, but I get a lot more out of it when I do practice.

Does that make sense?

Not American, but I've never seen it either. A couple of bits here and there, that's all.

>About 4 years now. Used to play keyboard, but gave it up when I was younger thinking musical instruments were not cool. How wrong I was! :( At least some of the timing etc I learned as a kid has helped slightly for my timing on guitar. I don't need to think about if I'm playing 3/4, 4/4 etc etc. Phew!

25 years with a couple of one year haitusussesses. I thought it was more important to pratice guitar than social skilz.

When I am praticing guitar, I'm not mad at you, I love you. But you can just go to hell.

Shamus,

I'm in the same boat. I get *very* little time with a guitar these days, running after 2 toddlers. But I actually make some progress with what little time I *do* have. I think I've finally learned to practice the things that really need the most work. Like Morse said in his 'highlights' video.. if you practice the things that are really difficult, you'll be able to play the other things that aren't as difficult, too (even though you haven't practiced them).

Plus, I think hanging around this forum so much makes me *think* about playing guitar a lot more than I ever have in the past.

That makes sense. I think that with age and experience on your chosen instrument, you don't just randomly play for the sake of playing (or at least as often).

When practicing, you actually stop to correct mistakes you make on-the-spot, and advance quicker by doing so.

Sorry Tommy, I couldn't resist!!! Les and Leo must have been "young whippersnappers" in your day ;) Was BP even born then?

By the way, there is a Shank Hall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's nothing like the Shank Hall in Spinal Tap. It's a great movie, watch it!
