Off Topic fractal axe fx

I got the chance to try out the Axe-FX Ultra a few days ago. A buddy of mine just got one for his studio to do re-amping and direct recording stuff. All I have to say is

An amazing piece of gear. I'm ditching my G-System/Bogner rig for one of these, a stereo power amp, and another 2x12 cabinet.

I'm planning on using in the studio and live, so we'll see how it goes. I'm really excited.

Hehe, great to see you went in with an open (albeit skeptical) mind.
Although there may be those who genuinely don't like them, there will also be SO many who try them and think "Holy crap, this is awesome", but won't admit it.

i got one of the first standards in europe and the first one in austria.
i still love it. at the moment i have an ultra for recording and a standard for live.
mostly i run it through the regular monitorsystem w/o any cab. when using a cab i use a dB active monitor hwich is a great choice and not too expensive.
i sold some tubeamps after (mostly ENGLs) i got it but still keep the oldertubeamps but they collect dust at the moment.
surely its not for everyone but i love it.

I've only listened to a couple so far - gives a great idea of the quality & vast range of sounds these things can give.

There's some pretty OTT gain & effects in there, but he's purely demoing the capabilities of the Axe

All direct from Axe-FX to soundcard.

Make sure you listen in HQ to get stereo.

just as an aside...I got in a bit of a financial bind (who isn't there these days) and had to sell my Standard to pay bills...it was either that or my Morse and you know I'm not selling my Morse...anyway, I picked up a cheaper modeler so I could have a headphone/recording/direct solution...returned it in one day...the AxeFX IS that far ahead of the curve...I miss it terribly and have a change jar started so I can save for an Ultra one day...an amazing tool
