its going to be called John Petrucci F-1 a nod to formula one because the guitar is the ultimate speed machine.

SOme background on Blackie before you guys pass judgement.

First off a little known fact about Blackie is that Lee Dixon Eric's long time tech was frustrated with Blackie in 1986 and instead of bringing it o Fender he brought it to us to rebuild. I wouldnt normally agree to work on another brand of guitar but we would do anythin for Clapton as he has been a part of our family since the 60's. Also it was an honor to work on such a signifigant part of history. Dudley did a great job. I will have dudley post pics.

When EC had Crossroads festival to raise money for his substance abuse clinic in Anitgua,Guitar Centerwas the prime sponsor and bought Blackie and a few other guitars at the christies auction. THey paid nearly a million dollars for Blackie. Enzo (Mchael Doyle on the forum) and Keith Brawley then went to work re reating the cream 335 with gibson and sol all of them in 27 hours and raised a ton of money for drug abuse. Now it is blackies turn. They are leveraging their previous donation to raise more money for crossroads with the blackie tribute. these are meant for serious collectors and will sell probably the day they are offered.

Both Keith and Enzo will be in Dallas and can fill you in on the details.

Excellent! And here was I thinking that you folks only liked cars that went round and round in a big oval!:D

And on that topic.....Bye bye Schumi!!!!!:D

PS: Before anyone starts a F1 vs NASCAR or INDY war here, I will be the first to admit, F1 can be deadly, deadly dull with approx 1 good overtaking move a season! Most of the overtaking is done in the pits these days ;)

Woohoo! I was hoping for a nod to F-1!

Man, BP, that's an amazing story about "Blackie." I can't say I'm into these Fend3r replicas, but whatever floats people's boats.

those are great pics... thanks for posting them.
That guitar Master JP has is killing. I can't wait to place an order too! That will definitely will be my third Ball !!!

No problem. Man, I'm hoping that the JP F-1 debuts at NAMM with orders taken soon after. I'm planning on that one for my 3rd Ball. I was planning on it for my 2nd, but the 20th Anniversary Silo had something to say about that.

By the way...

BP

Now that we're all grown-ups and we know what to post and what not to post here...

Can we please have another update on the F-1, especially for those of us that will be buying one.

Any further changes to come or is the one JP currently using the final version?

Many thanks as ever.:D

tried looking but you have to register

Ah! Thanks Colin. I've been registered there so long I didn't remember.

Basically there are about 30 odd pics including Eric Johnson, JP and Satriani on the Mexican G3 leg.

The pics are all taken with a mobile phone so are not great but probably about as good as you can get using a phonecam.

JP F-1?

Noooo. Name it in honour of the world's greatest motor sport:

JP WRC ;)

Or JP Evo or JP Evolution would be cool as well.
