I'm thinking it'll either be a trans finish of some description (maybe a burst), or perhaps, if I'm very lucky, a sparkle finish :)

Nah, I'll go for the trans finish... but I can't see any further than that! :D

the "BFR" will be the Bongo For Rednecks. It will be made from an ACTUAL toilet seat, with a matching plunger on the headstock! :D :D

I'm not seeing that on the Bongos, unless the do something like a mahogany Bongo. Basswood just does not look good with transparent finishes . . . . . . .

And, based on all the ranting BP did about sparkles, somehow, I doubt we'll be seeing that either . . . . . . dunno, I officially punt . . . . .

Well judging from the amount of times BP said on the guitar thread that A BONGO IS A BASS I'd be guessing it's a bass :D

IS = current state of being.

WILL BE = future state of being.

The production Bongo IS a bass.

The future Bongo 6 WILL BE....????

Probably a bass. Just stirring the pot! :D

BP loves to see us squirm. He's got a real sadistic streak, methinks, and he's as good as a politician when it comes to twisting words around so you can't tell what they mean.

I won't rule anything out until we see pictures.

Y'know, I don't think Dargin's blue burst Bongo is Blue Dawn. Isn't Blue Dawn a sparkle finish? Dargin's looks different from BD pics I've seen.

OK, blue burst Bongo like the one in Dargin's avatar. Whatever that color is, I want it. I know I've seen pics of Dave LaRue with a Blue Dawn Bongo. BD is a sparkle finish.

I already work at night, so I guess I'll have to venture into working while the sun is out. Or it could just be medical experiments for the crumb snatchers.....

I don't see how I'm going to make it through next year with less than two new EB basses - a 20th SR5 and either a Sterling 5 or 07 LE (or 1 of each depending on the details). Fortunately, I don't get along with more than 5 strings.

My guess,

BFR = Bongo of Fully Rosewood

o lawsey lawsey lawsey

I wonder if all of the recent work on the new JP guitar is one of the things that prompted talk of a Bongo 6. I know his bass player has a current sig model that is a six string with two big humbuckers....

Hmmmm......

osnap! Now there's a thought. That'd be pretty cool, John Petrucci and John Myung both up on stage with Balls. :D

That comment was based on nothing other than BP posting pics of the most recent prototype of the JP guitar. AKA-- talking out of my ass. :D
