Gig Bag for Morse?

Going to be doing some travel/gigging over the next few months and considering going for a high-end gig bag - just easier to transport than a full size hard shell case and there's some NICE gig bags on the market at this time - Fusion F1, Mono M80 or Vertigo, Gator Commander, etc.

Many have different models based on the exact guitar you're playing - of course none have the Morse listed - so am guessing I'll go for a standard "Strat" size - but am interested in any feedback from my gig-bagging EBMM brethren.

Yes, I know it's not *quite* as secure as using the original hard-shell case - but am confident I'll be able to carry-on (always have, always will! )

I've been using the M80 for a few years- it's pretty solid. Plus the compartments are handy.

Kevin: As an airline employee let me give you some quick words of wisdom.

1. Travelling with a gig bag is totally the way to go. It will fit in the overhead unlike most solid cases.

2. Paying the extra $15-30 to board early is worth it. Be early to the gate! If you get stuck boarding last or late there won't be any overhead bin space left and they will gate check your axe and you never want that thing to go through the baggage masher.

3. If you have a tight connection you can still get screwed. Sorry.

4. Worse comes to worse, it might be smarter to remove the neck of your axe and fold it in half and cram it in an overhead vice putting it down below.

As an employee I will always volunteer to walk guitars down to the cargo hold myself and make sure they're at least stowed correctly, but after that you're at the mercy of the baggage mashers.
