Played a benefit (read: no pay) outdoors today to about 4.7 people. The sound guys were AWFUL, and how hard is to mix a four piece band with no keyboards, anyway?

Ah well, you can't tell from the photos how trying it was.

I claim this stage in the name of The Drummer.

Great pics... But please tell us these were taken during the sound check, before the gates were open to the public... :p

Jack, I've starred in this movie a thousand times, at least you didn't get wet.

Great looking new rig you've got there Jack, I bet it's a killer!

We've certainly had some interesting weather here lately. We had big hairy wind gusts today, further taxing the tiny brain stems of the Sound People.

I told the main Sound Guy I had a DI out, did he want post or pre EQ? He gave me that thousand yard stare. What? So I explained it. Very seldom do I feel like a genius, but this guy gave me all I could handle.

The iAMP is quite nice. VERY clean. Not all warm and fuzzy like the Sunn, but I'm liking it and it weighs under 20 lbs and delivers 800 real watts.

I'm so accustomed to warm and fuzzy that clean is kind of hard to get used to, but I'm working on it. It seems to have the "brown tone" in it....just have to get smarter than the parametric EQ section.

Cowpilot, well.....I like us and a couple of the forum guys seem to think we're fun, but we sort of suck in a funny way.

It's definitely an odd collection of humans.

Give yourself two.

It was actually "Relay For Life", a thing for cancer survivors - fairly noble, although it annoys me that they bitch if we smoke. I was thinking, well, look, cancer survivors, hey, go complain about the SUN, would you? Or combustion engines, if you must!

But I was good and did without my Winstons for the duration.
