First set finished, I find a guy waiting to talk to me. "Are y'all done?" He goes on to say that HIS band is booked to play inside, some radio station thing, they've driven a hundred miles, blah blah blah. I say, "Nope, we're just getting started - you need a band?" I'm all smiles. He's not, so, you know, we're all musicians here but I've now decided he can kiss my ass, frankly. "Go find the manager and best of luck", I tell him.

That made me laugh... I've had similar experiences but I like how you handled it better than I

I'll remember that line "you need a band?" with a big @#%^ eating grin

Seems like most musicians have an inverse ratio of talent to jerkyness. Lack of talent is compensated for by bad attitude.

I'll never understand the "competition attitude" some musicians have towards others. In general, I enjoy listening to bands playing before or after us. And in general the climate is good in the back stage area. But maybe it's easier if your income doesn't depend on playing gigs...

I'll tell you a secret. Well, two secrets.

1. These guys were not smart.
3. These guys were not talented.

That explains so much, doesn't it?
