That is by far the coolest, most original guitar I've seen. Pulled off perfectly.

Truly a work of art and a damn good piece of engineering. Great job, guys! Looks awesome!

Special Thanbks to Greg Oshiro!

I must give a tip o' the hat to my childhood friend and electronic guru Greg Oshiro for hanging out with me on Father's Day and lending a few tweaks to the LED display. You ROCK!!

Thanks, Dudley

I would say manufacturing officially started on June 20th, when we laser engraved the maple top with the earth and flames. There was however a great deal of design, artwork, web searching electronics testing and other brainstorming that has been going on for about four weeks before we started cutting wood. So roughly 6 weeks from concept to final instrument.

The guitar body, neck and snow globe were all modeled in Pro Engineer. This was absolutely necessary because it was a real challenge to fit all of the electronics underneath the fingerboard and into the body without hitting any of the guitar related components.

Jon, cool!!! So you must have used a standard AL body model and neck, or was Mr. HorsePower done on Pro/E too?

Did you import the artwork via IGES or DXF?

I would love to see the model of the whole thing, did you model all of the electronics in the body and neck?

You only find out how good you are when tested. This was a test. I called Dudley and said...."Genius, (my nickname for Dudley for over 20 years...he actually calls me it too. Only one is though) We need a Global Warming guitar for Chris Guest.....I said I wanted a snow globe with gore, ice cubes a "blackbery holder" and little monuments from around the world integrated. THen he chris and I talked and then he and enjoneer and the team attacked it. I hate to think how much we have invested..well over 1,200 hours.

Aybody can make a joke guitar....try making one that is really a good guitar with all of the jokes actually being quite difficult.

Im proud of all of you in SLO and this is the kind of thing that makes all of the crap worthwhile.

Incredible. Love spinal tap. It's amazing EBMM is building guitars for Spinal Tap.
That thing has more electronics than a surround sound receiver.
