Wow, that turned out great... I really like the black pickguard with the Sub's headstock. Pearloid might look nice, but I think you've got a winner right there.

I better not let my son see these pics, he has the Sub and really liked how my Luke turned out. I can see it heading out for a refinish too...

And you're right about the color, it's tough to photograph.

Personally I'd put a vintage white pearloid guard on it. (A little smokier than plain white.)

I was going to suggest pearloid but the pic above speaks for itself! Maybe changing the knobs to chrome might help make it more subtle but then the headstock is still black isn't it...

Tough decision but with a sub like that I don't think you can go to wrong.

Chrome knobs would be the icing on the cake. Browndog is good. He's got that "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" thing.

i would prefer a dark pickguard, i´m not a fan of those pearloid pickguards.
what i really love is the look of the (sadly) discont. Black Ice pickguards, guess that would be killer with this kind of goldish look.
i still remember the old ad with the rad-red silo spec. and the black ice pg on it.
